A Magical Feast - Scrumptious’ Wonderland Christmas Mini Buffet Review

When it comes to Christmas gatherings, few things capture the festive spirit quite like a sumptuous buffet filled with comforting favourites. This year, I had the pleasure of trying Scrumptious’ Wonderland Christmas Mini Buffet ($18.71/pax with platter) — and it truly lived up to its name. Every dish was beautifully presented, with vibrant colours, inviting aromas, and a balance of flavours that made it perfect for any Christmas celebration.

Here’s what I thought of each dish:

🥗 Harvest Pumpkin & Potato Salad with Cranberry Drizzle

The buffet began with the Harvest Pumpkin & Potato Salad, a refreshing and creative twist on the classic Christmas potato dish. The combination of sweet pumpkin and soft potato worked wonderfully together, creating a delightful contrast in texture. The cranberry drizzle added a touch of tanginess that brought the whole dish to life. Beautifully plated and bright in colour, it was a refreshing start and a lovely change from the usual heavy holiday starters. One of the most beautiful dishes I've seen so far!

🧀 Holiday Cold Cut Platter with Pickles & Olives

The Holiday Cold Cut Platter was an instant crowd-pleaser. The assortment of premium cold cuts was well-curated — savoury, tender, and nicely balanced by the tangy pickles and olives on the side. It was the perfect dish to nibble on while chatting over festive drinks, setting a relaxed yet elegant tone for the rest of the meal. However, I thought it would be better to have a wider selection of cold cuts, but the Trio Sausage Platter definitely made up for it (more on this later)!

🍚 Buttery Mediterranean Herb Rice

The Buttery Mediterranean Herb Rice was wonderfully fragrant and fluffy, with a comforting buttery aroma that filled the room. Each bite carried subtle hints of herbs, adding depth without overpowering the main dishes. It paired perfectly with the sausages and fish, soaking up the sauces and tying the meal together beautifully. As the rest of the dishes were more flavorful, the rice made it perfect to enjoy with them.

🥦 Roasted Christmas Veggie Medley

The Roasted Christmas Veggie Medley added a splash of colour and wholesomeness to the spread. Each vegetable was roasted to perfection — tender with a light caramelised edge that enhanced its natural sweetness. It was a simple yet well-executed dish that provided a nice balance against the richer mains. It's simple, but it's definitely one of my favourite dishes from this mini buffet set.

🌭 Trio Sausage Platter with Merry Mustard Dip

My absolute favourite dish of the entire buffet! The Trio Sausage Platter stood out immediately — unlike the usual Christmas sausage platters that feature just one or two types, this one offered three varieties, all of excellent quality. Each sausage had its own distinctive flavour (frank sausage, cheese sausage and black pepper sausage) and the Merry Mustard Dip complemented them beautifully. The dip was incredibly flavourful yet light and refreshing, so much so that I found myself mixing it into the rice — it was that delicious! This dish was hearty, festive, and completely irresistible.

🐟 Buttermilk Fish with Snowflake Tartar Sauce

The Buttermilk Fish was another delightful surprise. The fish was tender and fresh, and with the Snowflake Tartar Sauce, it struck the perfect balance between creamy and zesty. It was a satisfying choice that even non-fish lovers would enjoy. Remember to have it while it's hot!

🍫 Chocolate Royal Feuillete Delight

To finish, the Chocolate Royal Feuillete Delight was an indulgent treat worthy of its regal name. Layers of rich chocolate and delicate crispness created a luxurious texture, while the sweetness was just right — not overpowering, but enough to leave a lasting impression. It was the perfect ending to a festive meal done right.
