Bakers' Luv Cakes Review - Nasi Lemak Cake?!

1. English Carrot Cake
No no this is not fried carrot cake.. (Some people still get confused) This cake incorporates shredded carrots, roasted walnuts, cranberries and topped with cream cheese frosting. This wholesome bake came with varying textures coming from the crunchy walnuts, contrasted with the layer of rich cream cheese! The cake was moist and light! It was really the texture that differentiates itself from the drier carrot cakes out there.
2. Classic Onde Onde Cake
This is a pandan cake layered with cream cheese frosting and drizzled with purely gula melaka. Frosted with cream cheese frosting and coconut flakes for that extra crunchy texture! I enjoyed its lightness, soft and spongy texture, along with smooth cream that was not too sweet. If you are fan of onde onde, you definitely have to give this a try!
3. Signature Nasi Lemak Cake
No, this is not nasi lemak shaped into a cake. This is a savoury cake layered with a spicy pastry cream, frosted with peanut butter cream and topped with real sambal, eggs and anchovies. When my colleagues and I first saw the cake, we were a bit sceptical. However, to our surprise, it actually tastes really good and unique! Every element of this cake complemented well with one another. If there’s a special occasion coming up, and you want something a little more unique, then definitely go for this one-of-a-kind Nasi Lemak Cake.
