Delizio Catering Review - A Premium CNY Mini Buffet For Your Reunion Dinner!

With Chinese New Year right around the corner, I'm pretty sure we are all excited about the delicious reunion dinner we are having with our friends and family! This year, you can save yourself the hassle of preparing tirelessly for the meal and order in a mini buffet set to enjoy instead! Well, you've come to the right spot. Check out our review on Delizio Catering's Spring Delight Mini Buffet! It serves a group of 8 pax which is perfect for the current covid-19 restrictions that we have right now. 

This platter of appetizers comes with a wide assortment of treats and goodies that'll keep you coming back for more! In this platter, there is a selection of marinated octopus, tempura tiger prawns, rainbow rolls, seaweed corn rolls, and money bags! They are all cooked to perfection and all the fried items still retained their crunchy texture even after being delivered to us. If you want, you can dip them in some chili sauce for an extra kick too. The octopus is fresh as well and it would be a hit among the seafood lovers in your gathering. Rating: 4.5/5

2. Majestic Yi Pin Pot

What's a reunion dinner without a Yi Pin Pot dish? Well, I'm happy to announce that this dish from Delizio doesn't disappoint at all! It comes with a selection of sea cucumber, fish maw, dried scallops, smoked cuck, abalone, broccoli, and prawns all in a clay pot that they have sent over. Everything is seasoned perfectly and the sauce is delicious too. The portion is appropriate and perfect for a group of 8 pax as well and everyone can have a taste of this wonderful dish. 3. Lotus Leaf Glutinous Rice

This delicious pack of glutinous rice comes with dry shrimp, Chinese sausages, and mushrooms. The rice is perfectly cooked and it's consistent all around, with every grain being perfectly cooked and you won't have to experience biting down on uncooked rice grains. I really love the flavours as well but I just wish that the rice is a little less mushy and watery but if you're into that, this is the way to go! Rating: 4/5

4. 8 Treasure Chicken

What a fitting name for this dish! If you're like me and you're into very traditional herbal-y flavours, you'll surely love this dish! The chicken is cooked perfectly all the way through and its texture is perfect too. The meat is tender and juicy and the broth is delicious too. Rating: 4.5/5

5. Fried Seabass with Chef Homemade Sauce

We all know a good Chinese New Year reunion dinner wouldn't be complete without some fish right? After all, we should hope for "nian nian you yu"! This dish comes with a large seabass fried to perfection. The skin has some bite to it while the flesh is soft, delicate, and tasty! The sauce is an excellent addition too. It's sweetness pairs really well with the fish. Here's a protip too: you can dip fried items from the prosperity platter in the sauce for an awesome combination! Rating: 4.5/5

6. Broccoli and Cauliflower with Pacific Clams and Black Moss

The veggies in this dish are awesome too! It comes with a nice assortment of broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, pacific clams, as well as black moss. The greens are cooked to perfection and they retained some of that nice crunch while still not being too hard. The clams are tasty and fresh as well and it all comes together through the sauce. Rating: 4.5/5

7. Tiger Prawn with Chili Crab Sauce

Like the other seafood dishes, the tiger prawns in chili crab sauce don't disappoint too! The prawns are well cooked and the texture is perfect. Not too springy or too mushy like you'd expect from a lower-quality caterer. The sauce is really delicious too and it gives you that extra layer of flavour. It's also not too spicy so everyone can enjoy a piece of this delicious goodness. Rating: 4/5

8. Whole Yam Ring with Smoked Duck Slices

A classic in any Chinese-themed gathering, the yam ring from Delizio doesn't disappoint too! It's crispy on the outside and soft, fluffy, and flavourful on the inside. There's also an array of other goodies included like cherry tomatoes, cashew nuts, and more! The smoked duck is also another star of the show. It's tender and juicy and it pairs well with the yam ring too. I recommend dipping the yam ring in the tiger prawn sauce for an extra kick! Rating: 4.5/5

9. Glutinous Rice Balls with Organic Red Dates

Last but not least, we have dessert! Check out their delicious glutinous rice balls with organic red dates! The rice balls have either sesame or peanut fillings but both are yummy too. It's not too sweet and the dish is generally more traditional in terms of its taste as compared to others. There is also a generous amount of red dates and wolfberries in the dish too, so there is plenty to go around! Rating: 4/5
