Homely Delights Tingkat Meal Review – Vegetarian Goodness!
Who says vegetarian meals can’t be exciting? We tried Day 4 of Homely Delights’ vegetarian tingkat meal, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. Think wholesome, comforting flavors with a healthier twist — and yes, even the “fish” was mock meat!
Here’s our dish-by-dish journey:
🥢 Lunch – Light Yet Comforting
🥬 Shandong-Style Moo Shu Vegetarian “Pork”
A great start! The mock “pork” was tender and soaked up the savory sauce beautifully. It’s hearty enough to satisfy yet light enough for a midday meal.
🍄 Enoki Mushrooms with Iceberg Lettuce
Refreshing and crunchy! The crisp lettuce and delicate enoki mushrooms brought a burst of freshness to the lunch spread — simple but very satisfying.
🥒 Stir-Fried Bitter Melon with Mixed Vegetables
Not everyone loves bitter melon, but this one was done just right. The bitterness was subtle and balanced with the sweetness of the mixed vegetables. It added a nice “grown-up” flavor to the meal.
🥣 Old Cucumber Soup
Comfort in a bowl. Naturally sweet and nourishing, this traditional soup felt like something grandma would lovingly make at home. Perfect for rounding off lunch.
🍚 Fried Rice
The fried rice was colorful, hearty, and filled with bits of vegetables like carrots, peas, corn, and black fungus. Each spoonful had a nice mix of textures, from the crunch of the veggies to the soft grains of rice. It wasn’t oily at all, making it a lighter and healthier take on the usual fried rice, while still being flavourful enough to enjoy on its own.
🍽️ Dinner – Heartier & More Flavourful
🐟 Creamy Vegetarian Fish
⭐ My absolute favourite! The creamy sauce was rich in umami but not overpowering, coating the mock fish just right. It’s the kind of dish you find yourself scooping up every last bit of sauce for. Not gonna lie, I kept coming back for more.
🥦 Cameron Choy Sum in Oyster Sauce
Sometimes, the simplest dishes are the best. The choy sum was fresh, crunchy, and lightly flavoured with oyster sauce — a classic that never disappoints.
🎃 Fragrant Stir-Fried Pumpkin
Sweet, soft, and wonderfully fragrant, this dish was pure comfort food. The natural sweetness of the pumpkin shone through, making it a perfect side.
🍅 Tomato and Chinese Cabbage Soup
Light, tangy, and refreshing — exactly what you want to end the day with. The tomato’s slight acidity paired well with the cabbage’s sweetness, keeping the soup bright and appetizing.
🍜 Stir-Fried Bee Hoon
The bee hoon was springy and well stir-fried, with a medley of vegetables, mushrooms, and eggs tossed in. What stood out was how fragrant it was — light, not greasy, and seasoned just right so you can taste the natural sweetness of the vegetables. It’s the kind of comforting noodle dish that you could easily have for lunch or dinner without feeling heavy afterward.
🌟 Final Thoughts
Homely Delights really lives up to its name — every dish felt wholesome, comforting, and made with care. What we loved most is that their tingkat meals are cooked with less oil, salt, and MSG, so you get all the flavor without the guilt.
If you’re looking for tasty, fuss-free, and healthy vegetarian meals delivered to your doorstep, Homely Delights is definitely a winner. And trust me — you don’t need to be vegetarian to enjoy their creamy “fish”! Overall a 5/5 for me!
