Churros Factory Review - Dipping-licious Sugary GOODNESS!

What we have with us here is a Spain-originated fried-dough pastry – a predominantly choux-based snack. Traditional in Spain and Portugal, but famous throughout the world! There are no limitations to when (or where) you can have it – in the comfort of your own home or even with a bunch of friends to share. It’s completely your choice if you would like to savour these churros for breakfast, have it for a snack during tea-time or even as a dessert after meals! 

Just when I was in need of some sugar-rush, Churros Factory sent over their Churros Gold Set which consists of:  

• 25 Seasalt Caramel Churros 
• 25 Ondeh Churros 
• 40 Classic Original Churros
• Sauces: Gula Melaka Dip, Seasalt Caramel Dip,  Choco Dip, Strawberry Dip  
• Toppings: Peanuts, Oreos, Rainbow Sprinkles, Coconut Shavings

Classic Original Churros

When we talk about Churros, the most typical type would be the Original Classic that’s simply just a dusting of cinnamon sugar on top of the fried-dough pastry. The appearance and texture of it might seem similar to the Chinese Fried Fritters (also known as “You Tiao”), but taste-wise, it would be a sweeter version of it.  

You would’ve expected a sickly-sweet taste with that generous coating of cinnamon sugar on top of the classic Churros, but it is surely not the case here. It was of the right amount of sweetness despite the sugar layer! Personally, I preferred the plain version instead of having it with the strawberry dip as I felt it was a little artificial and overly sweet (even with my preference for sweet treats).

Charcoal Churros

I loved how these Charcoal churros were still fluffy and airy, though we had left it in the open for quite a bit. These churros still retained that little bit of crisp on the outer layer despite being out for so long and still made a very delightful snack! I can only imagine how heavenly it would taste if we had eaten these right after they were out from the fryer!  

I’m not really sure how a Charcoal-flavoured churro should taste like as it was my first time having it, but I felt it tasted quite like the classic churros. Fans of dark, rich chocolate, you’re in for a treat! The thick chocolate dip that came with these churros wasn’t exactly sweet and had a little bitter aftertaste which I thought helped to counter the sweetness from the sugary churros goodness! The Charcoal Churros and the chocolate dip made such a good duo!

Ondeh Churros

I had a hard time deciding if I liked these Ondeh Churros or the Charcoal Churros with chocolate dip better. What I was thankful for was that their churros weren’t overly oily, so we got to enjoy them without feeling too cloyed or surfeited! You can choose to enjoy these churros on their own to taste the Pandan-Coconutty flavour but the ultimate combination (which we would HIGHLY recommend you guys to try) would be to dip it into the Gula Melaka Dip or the Seasalt Caramel Dip!

This sounds like the perfect indulgence after a hard day – when you finally get to replenish the sugars you need to get you through. The Churros here had a fair sugar-to-churros ratio, which means you’ll be able to consume more and that makes everything better! If you’re looking for Churros that’s different from the norm, Churros Factory is the one for you. Their Churros makes every calorie gained so worth it!
