[/embed]Manna Pot Catering is a Halal-certified Catering Company in Singapore, with a passion to provide wholesome food for the soul! Recently, they kindly sent over their wellness bento sets for us to review. We tried 6 of their wellness bento sets: 3 Western and 3 Asian bento sets. Can I just say how my mouth watered just by smelling the fragrance of the bento sets…? Not to forget, every bento set comes with a side of Fresh Fruit Box!
Now I will be sharing my pleasant food experience with Manna Pot Catering!
1. Wellness Bento Set Asian 1: Steamed Brown Rice, Mixed Vegetables with Bailing Mushroom, Signature Chicken Rendang, Putien Sweet & Sour Fish with Lychee, Deluxe Fresh Fruit Box.
First up, we have our first Wellness Bento Asian Set! I like how their bento sets come with brown rice instead of white rice. This makes their bento a little healthier than the other bento sets out there. The Mixed Vegetables with Bailing Mushrooms were crunchy and well cooked! The Chicken Rendang yields flavorful and tender chicken, with the pleasant aroma of different spices. It was easy to chew and not tough at all! Lastly, the Putien Sweet and Sour Fish with Lychee was delectable and refreshing. The dish provided a good balance between sweet and tangy!
Overall Rating: 4/5
2. Wellness Bento Set Asian 2: Brown Rice Vermicelli, Tamago (Japanese Fried Egg), Chicken Karaage, Grilled Scallop with Miso Sauce, Deluxe Fresh Fruit Box.
How often do you find bento sets with Tamago and Scallop? I was very impressed with the types of side dishes that Manna Pot includes in their bento sets! The Tamago was sweet and had a soft texture, perfect for kids and elderly. The Grilled Scallop with Miso Sauce was just *chef's kiss*. The scallop was cooked perfectly and the sauce complemented the dish really well. Next, the chicken karaage was crispy and super flavourful! Lastly, the Brown Rice Vermicelli included various ingredients, like cabbage and shiitake mushroom. The different ingredients provided the dish with many different levels of texture!
Overall Rating: 4.5/5
3. Wellness Bento Set Asian 3: Brown Rice Vermicelli, Kailan with Oyster Sauce, Thai Style Spicy Mango Chicken, Thai Style Garlic Prawn (De-Shelled), Deluxe Fresh Fruit Box.
Next up, we have our last Asian Bento Set! This set contains the same Brown Rice Vermicelli, which tasted equally as good as the previous set. The kailan and carrot were crunchy, and the mushroom provided another level of texture. De-shelled prawns? Yes please! The prawns were fresh, and the garlic made it extra fragrant. The Thai Style Spicy Mango Chicken was sweet and tender, with a subtle kick of spice. Overall a well-executed dish!

4. Wellness Bento Set Western 1: Whole Grain Spaghetti Aglio Olio, Roasted Summer Vegetable Medley, Baked Swedish Chicken Meatball in Tomato Concasse, Tomato Concasse, Assorted Fresh Fruit Box.
Let's move on to the first Western Bento Set! Skip the long queues at IKEA and get your meatballs here! The Baked Swedish Chicken Meatball was juicy and had a very nice texture. For those of you who don't know, Concasse is a cooking term meaning to rough chop any ingredient, usually vegetables or fruit. The Tomato Concasse was tangy and it goes really well with all the side dishes in the bento set! The Roasted Vegetable had a caramelised exterior and good flavor while keeping the inside moist and tender. To complete the meal, there was a generous side of perfectly al dente Spaghetti Aglio Olio, with the flavours of the garlic.
Overall Rating: 4/5
5. Wellness Bento Set Western 2: Brown Rice Seafood Paella (Spanish), Mixed Vegetable Deluxe, Honey Glazed Chicken Chop, Grilled Fish Fillet with Lemon Pesto Bechamel Sauce, Assorted Fresh Fruit Box.
It was my first time having Seafood Paella and I must say, I really enjoyed it! It was savoury with the different flavours from the seafood. The Mixed Vegetable was well cooked through while preserving its crunchy texture! Next, we have the Honey Glazed Chicken Chop which was the perfect balance of sweet and savoury. The chicken was tender and well marinated! Lastly, we have the star of the bento set - The Grilled Fish Fillet. It was scrumptious! The Lemon Pesto Bechamel Sauce is sort of a hybrid between lemon butter and carbonara. It went perfectly with the fish!
Overall Rating: 4/5
6. Wellness Bento Set Western 3: Hawaiian Style Brown Rice, Lightly Buttered Broccoli with Button Mushroom, Tea Leaf Smoked Duck Breast with Smoky Black Peppercorn Reduction, Grilled Fish Fillet with Lemon Butter, Assorted Fresh Fruit Box.
Let's start off by talking about my favourite dish in this entire food review - the Smoked Duck. The Smoked Duck tasted superb with a hint of tea leaf fragrance and a slight kick of the Peppercorn Reduction. The Broccoli and Mushroom were buttery and palatable! The Grilled Fish Fillet with Lemon Butter tasted similar to the previous fish fillet dish! Both were tender and very flavourful. Not to forget, the Hawaiian Style Brown Rice went well with the other sides. It also tasted good on its own!
Overall Rating: 4/5
In a nutshell, both the Asian and Western bento sets truly amazed me. They really differentiated themselves from other caterers by including "atas" ingredients such as smoked duck and scallop! Every single bento set was very well-executed! Try them out for yourself now!
