They taste good, they look good, and they are most definitely “Instagramable”. They are Acai Bowls. Acai Bowls have the aesthetics of pretty foods, tastes phenomenal and apparently healthy, they are all the rave right now!

Acai is a berry that grows on the acai palm tree that are found in rainforests of South America. People have made many assumptions about the benefits of acai but are they true? Having assumptions like helping in weight loss and preventing cancer might just be what people have wished to be the case. And yeah, I would agree: Acai bowls can help me lose weight? I’ll have 10 to go please!

Acai Bowls are made from pureed frozen acai fruit and served as a smoothie. A traditional acai bowl is served with banana and granola. But of course, in the 21st century, people are adding more ingredients to give it their own twist!

Since acai bowls are pretty personal, it’s best if you have a little experiment with the ingredients yourself, to find the best recipe that you love! But, to get you started, here are some acai recipes that I love and strongly recommend!

Ingredients For An Acai Bowl:

  1. Pure Unsweetened Acai Puree
  2. Frozen berries: blueberries, strawberries, blackberries
  3. Frozen Banana, Pineapple,
  4. Liquid: Milk, or Natural Yoghurt
  5. Peanut Butter

Ingredients for Acai Bowl Toppings:

  1. Granola
  2. Nuts
  3. Seeds
  4. Fresh Sliced Fruits

To Blend: Acai Puree, Frozen Fruits: Banana, Strawberries, Pineapple, Blueberries

Toppings: Granola, Strawberries, Blueberries, Blackberries/Raspberries, Chia Seeds, Drizzle with Honey!

If you love strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries or any kind of berry at all really, then this is the acai bowl recipe for you!

Toppings: Granola, Banana, Sunflower Seeds, Blueberries, Peanut Butter

3. Tropical Berry
