The Ultimate Authentic Thai Feast - Happy Thai Food Review
If you’re anything like me and always on the lookout for legit Thai food delivery or hunting down the best Thai food in Singapore, I’ve got some super exciting news for you. Happy Thai Food has just joined FoodLine as a brand-new merchant!
Full disclosure: my mum is actually Thai, so I grew up eating homemade Thai dishes practically every day. Because of that, my standards for true Thai flavours (that perfect balance of spicy, sour, salty, and sweet) are high! So when we tried a spread from Happy Thai Food’s ala carte menu, I went in eager to see if it would taste like home.
Spoiler alert: I can honestly vouch for their authenticity! Everything tasted fresh, real, and packed with proper Thai flavor.
What We Tried & My Honest Breakdown
1. Tom Saap Pork (Absolute Favourite!)
Hands down my favourite dish of the whole order! The pork chunks were huge and so tender they literally fell off the bone. The soup itself had that sharp, spicy-sour herbal kick that just hits the spot on a rainy day. If you’re ordering from them, do not skip this!
2. Stir Fry Prawn with Special Chili and Petai (Another Favourite!)
If you’re a fan of petai (stink bean), you’re going to love this dish. The special chili paste was fragrant, rich, and deeply savory, while the prawns were super fresh with a firm bite. The combo of fresh prawns, petai, and chili sauce was pure perfection.
3. Stuffed Chicken Wing
These were surprisingly massive! Fried to a golden crisp on the outside, stuffed to the brim with savory filling, and super juicy inside. They send along both sweet chili sauce and green seafood sauce—and honestly, dipping the wings into both together was incredible.
4. Kailan with Salted Fish
A solid, comforting vegetable dish to balance out the stronger flavors. The kailan kept a satisfying crunchy bite, and the salted fish gave it that classic, smoky wok-hei richness without feeling heavy.
5. Stir-Fried Beef with Black Pepper Sauce
Juicy, tender beef slices tossed in a rich, peppery sauce. It had just the right amount of warm spice kick and wasn't chewy at all.
6. Pineapple Fried Rice Seafood
You can’t host a Thai feast without pineapple fried rice! The rice was fluffy, fragrant with subtle curry spices, and loaded with fresh seafood and sweet pineapple chunks. Super satisfying for the whole family.
7. Mango Sticky Rice
The ultimate sweet finish. The sliced mango was ripe and naturally sweet, paired with warm, comforting sticky rice and rich coconut cream.
8. Homemade Ice Lemon Tea & Longan Drink
The homemade ice lemon tea was refreshing and citrusy with just the right level of sweetness—the ideal drink to cool down your palate after all the spice. The longan drinnk was Lightly sweet, chilled, and packed with real longan fruit. Very soothing after a fiery meal!
The Verdict
Happy Thai Food delivers the kind of honest, bold, and authentic Thai cooking that's hard to find through food delivery. The ingredients feel fresh, the portions are generous, and the spice levels don't hold back on genuine Thai taste.
