4 Reasons Why You Should Not Skip Lunch

In the 21st century, many people have been forgoing their lunch whether they are students, people who are on a diet or even adults who have piles of paperwork to complete. Most of the common reasons why people are skipping lunch are to save money, lose weight or that they do not have enough time to eat because of the long queues at the coffee shops.
However, this is a bad habit and let me share with you some interesting facts that might change your mind of skipping meals.
- Lunch is the most important meal of the day.

Eating in the middle of the day can help to re-energize the body and increase in blood sugar level for better focus and concentration throughout the day.
- Skipping meals do not help you with losing weight.

Many people who are on diet have a misconception that skipping meals will help in losing weight. However, skipping meals cause your metabolism to slow down which can cause weight gain or make it harder to lose weight.
- You might get a headache from not consuming lunch.

Skipping meals and not consuming enough food during the day can cause your head to spin. You might start to feel dizzy and even feel like you might pass out. This is due to the drop in blood glucose level.
- Skipping meals can cause you to be sick.

Skipping meals can cause stomach ulcer, gastritis, acid reflux and stomach pain. Even without eating any food, your stomach will still continue to produce digestive juices which are acidic and will erode the stomach lining which can lead to severe ulcers or worse, cancer.
So, if you ask me, I do think that eating lunch is important. How about ordering in for lunch to save you the hassle of squeezing with the crowd and rushing through your meals?
