Rae: Today we are going to talk about how to make your event a safe environment for everyone! I’m sure all of you know about the Coron-
Corona: Shhhh don’t tell them. They hate me. They won’t listen if you mention my name
Rae: *squirts a ton of hand sanitizer*
Okay now that it’s gone, here’s how you can make your event safe for everyone! I will talk about the precautions that you can take, to keep yourself and your loved ones safe. Firstly, before I begin, if your event can be postponed, then it would be best to either postpone or cancel. But I do understand that some events simply cannot be cancelled or postponed. For example, weddings. Can’t wait any longer to get married to the love of your life? Fine. Can’t wait till your baby is 1 year old to celebrate their first full month right? I get it. Also, self-plug: Get your baby full month vouchers here at https://www.foodline.sg/baby/!
1. Hand Sanitizers
This is important. Always have a small bottle with you. A thoughtful door-gift for your guests could be a small bottle of hand sanitizers! Also remind your guests to sanitize their hands before entering the compound. I don’t know if you would like to adopt this advice but I clap my hands twice after sanitizing them to scare the germs. Like a little “Fight me”. Okay sorry that was a bad one…
2. Conduct temperature screening

I know this may sound stupid to some, and might not even make sense, but please do check the temperatures of your guests. Just to make sure that they are healthy at the time of the event. And also for tracking purposes, it is best to take down the their names, contact number and temperature. Touch all woods ladies and gentlemen but things happen.
3. Remind your guests to be socially responsible
Just a gentle reminder to for others to please stay at home if they feel unwell. They should also make a self-declaration if they just returned from overseas within the last 14 days and monitor their health before deciding if they should turn up for your event. This is crucial, even if you are afraid that they might be offended. This is not the time to take offence, and honestly if they take offence you should just renounce their invitation. Hmph.
4. Do not share food!

Use a separate set of utensils for scooping food and do not share your food! For those that never liked sharing, this the time for you to shine. Remind excessive “sharers” to not share their food! For weddings, you can even try requesting your restaurant or hotel to serve individually portioned food. Given the situation right now, I’m sure many of these vendors would be open to help you make your event safe. Another way to prevent sharing, is to order packed food instead! Everyone will have their own share, no fighting, no more “paiseh-piece”, the way I see it, it’s a win-win situation!
5. Wash your hands

I know that washing our hands before we eat may not be a habit when we are eating outside, but now, make the effort to remind yourself and your friends to do so! Tip: Carry around a small tube of hand lotion, washing your hands excessively may be too drying for some.
All these are just precautionary measures to fight Covid-19! As we all know, prevention is better than cure, please be socially responsible! Do check out our packed food, tingkat and mini-buffets here at www.foodline.sg!
