Affordable Mini Buffet From Yassin Kampung!

Hi Everyone!

Today, I will be sharing my superb pleasant experience with Yassin Kampung!

With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, there will definitely be more gatherings here and there. Moreover, Hari Raya is just around the corner, plan early with Yassin Kampung's Mini Buffet set that is specially curated just for this special season!

This whole mini buffet set consists of 9 dishes which serve up to about 10 pax!

Little Fun Fact About Yassin Kampung:

First established in 2002, Yassin Kampung has served as a popular destination for locals in the northern region of Singapore as well as travellers passing through the Causeway for its family oriented environment and affordable prices.

Garnering a loyal base of customers over the years, Yassin Kampung is excited to begin a new chapter at Marsiling, serving as a shining example of a Singaporean restaurant that not only serves as a national identity but also as a unifying cultural icon.

1. Seafood Fried Rice

Fried Rice has lots of unique flavour but it all boils down to the different seasonings as well as the ingredients incorporated into frying with the rice.

Yassin Kampung really delivers the authentic taste of Seafood Fried Rice, the rice is moist and super fragrant upon each bite.

Every bite really yearns you to have more, this dish is definitely good for sharing and suitable for all ages to enjoy!

For their Rice/Noodles choices, you can also choose Vegetarian Fried Bee Hoon, Mee Goreng Kampung and Thai Pineapple Fried Rice.

2. Cereal Chicken

Next up, Cereal Chicken, I am sure many of you will be familiar with this dish! This has got to be an all-time local favourite dish among adults and kids!

One key part that I really like about this dish is it's presentation, the chicken is cut into bite-size which is super convenient to enjoy, especially when you have guests over, saves the hassle of having to cut it yourself. Also, the generous serving of cereal, every bite gives you an abundance of cereal flavour that goes so well with the chicken taste. Actually, I am sure you can imagine the taste, crispy and savoury at the same time! Highly addictive!

3. Ginger Spring Onion Fish

For the third dish, we have Ginger Spring Onion Fish, this is also definitely a common dish that we see in many restaurants and even households!

Personally, I am quite particular about the fishy smell of any fish but safe to say, Yassin Kampung really lives up to their expectations of quality food.

The texture of the fish is firm and as for the taste, other than its non-fishy taste, it gives off a very subtle and pleasing smell!

The portion is also huge which means it is definitely more than enough for 10 pax, definitely able to go for a second serving!

4. Kang Kong Belacan

This dish has got to be one of my favourite, might be a little biased because this dish is my all-time favourite! For those who don't know, Kang kong is a midly spicy traditional and popular vegetable stir-fried in countries like Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia!

If you can't take spice, it is best to have this together with the Seafood Fried Rice because you shouldn't miss out on this flavourful dish!

5. Sotong Fritters

For the fifth dish, Sotong Fritters. Personally, I am not a fan of Sotong at all but this dish might have changed my take on sotong for abit! The sotong is perfectly battered with the right amount of flour and fried to the right consistency. You can hear the crunchiness after each bite, you will definitely be tempted to take more after every bite!

6. Banana Choco Cheese

Traditionally, this dish is more commonly known as Pisang Goreng. I recall those days when I rush to Pasar Malam after school to get my own share of Pisang Goreng for $2! Thanks to Yassin Kampung, I managed to relive those good old days but with a little twist to their own version of Pisang Goreng. It is drizzled with a generous amount of Chocolate Sauce and with Cheese sprinkled over it. This is definitely an after meal dessert! It is deep fried to perfection wtih the interior being so soft. I personally find this super addictive, what's not to love about deep fried snacks?

7. Beancurd with Minced Chicken

Next, Beancurd with Minced Chicken, a juicy and succulent dish enriched in savoury taste. The exterior of the beancurd gives off a slight golden crunch bite feeling while on the inside, it is super soft and it melts in your mouth! This dish is suitable for all ages, it is easy to chew and definitely a crowd pleaser!

8. Sambal Prawn

Sambal Prawn, a very common dish, is one of the crowd's favourites because the chilli paste comes with a balance of spicy, savoury and gives off a tangy flavour. Every bite is bursting with the briny taste of prawn, on top of that, the prawn is super fresh and tender. I am a huge fan of prawns so this dish is definitely one of my favourite!

9. Chicken Gyoza

Last but not least, Chicken Gyoza! Japanese Chicken Gyoza is crescent-shaped dumplings stuffed with meat and vegetables and it is best to be dipped in a savoury sauce! Definitely a perfect appetizer! The overall appearance is golden crunch, it is crispy on the outside while the meat filling on the inside is tender and juicy!
