Christmas Catering Singapore - Le Rainbow Catering Review
Finding Christmas catering in Singapore that feels festive, tastes delicious and does not cost a fortune can be surprisingly difficult. Thankfully, Le Rainbow Catering’s Xmas items delivered on all three fronts.
What impressed me immediately was the presentation. Every dish was plated neatly, with vibrant colours that gave the entire spread a premium and festive appearance. The Christmas Harvest Salad and Honey Chicken Ham Platter were the best-presented dishes in the spread. Both were colourful, beautifully arranged and perfectly suited to the joyful Christmas theme.
The food looked much more expensive than it actually was and would fit beautifully into a Christmas celebration at home, in the office or at a cosy year-end gathering.
Most importantly, everything tasted just as good as it looked!
A Well-Balanced Christmas Catering Menu
The dishes also arrived with heating packs, which allowed us to warm the food before eating. This was a thoughtful and practical addition, especially during a party when guests might not start eating immediately.
Here is what I thought of every dish in this Christmas lineup.
Christmas Harvest Salad with Cocktail Shrimp and Roasted Pumpkin
The Christmas Harvest Salad was easily one of the best-presented dishes in the entire spread.
It was bright, colourful and very fitting for a joyful Christmas celebration. The greens added freshness to the meal, while the cocktail shrimp and roasted pumpkin made it more substantial than an ordinary side salad.
The combination also brought some welcome variety to a menu filled with hearty festive dishes. It was refreshing to have something lighter between servings of meat, seafood and rice.
Honey Chicken Ham Platter with Cranberry Sauce
The Honey Chicken Ham Platter was another beautifully presented dish.
It was colourful, neatly arranged and looked wonderful on the Christmas table. Together with the Christmas Harvest Salad, it was one of the most visually impressive dishes in the set.
The cranberry sauce added a classic Christmas flavour and provided a fruity contrast to the savoury chicken ham. This was an accessible and enjoyable dish that both children and adults could appreciate.
Roasted Chicken with Mushroom Cream Gravy and Cherry Tomato
This was one of my favourite dishes from the menu.
The roasted chicken paired wonderfully with the mushroom cream gravy, creating a rich and comforting dish that felt perfect for Christmas. The cherry tomatoes added colour to the presentation while helping to balance the creamy sauce.
It was indulgent without becoming overwhelming, and I found myself going back for another serving. For anyone who enjoys classic Western-style comfort food, this is likely to be one of the highlights.
Mediterranean-Style Baked Salmon
I was very pleased with the freshness of the baked salmon.
The salmon was served with a tomato-based sauce that complemented the fish extremely well. The sauce was neither too tangy nor overly sweet. It had just the right level of sweetness to enhance the salmon without masking its natural flavour.
Salmon can sometimes become dry when prepared in large catering portions, but this dish remained enjoyable and tasted fresh. It was also a welcome alternative for guests who preferred seafood over meat.
Tiger Prawn, Clam, Mussel and Squid with Silken Garlic and Onion Velouté
Seafood lovers will be happy with this dish because Le Rainbow Catering was very generous with both the variety and size of the seafood.
The dish included tiger prawns, clams, mussels and squid in a silken garlic and onion velouté. The seafood pieces were impressively large, especially the prawns, which were thick and juicy.
This was one of the dishes that made the whole menu lineup feel particularly premium. Rather than using small seafood pieces as decoration, the caterer provided satisfying portions that guests could properly enjoy.
Sautéed Chicken Bratwurst with Capsicum in Black Pepper Sauce
This was my other favourite dish, alongside the roasted chicken.
The chicken bratwurst was paired with capsicum and black pepper sauce, resulting in a savoury and satisfying combination. The black pepper sauce gave the sausages plenty of flavour, while the capsicum added some colour and variety.
It was a straightforward dish, but a very enjoyable one. I can easily imagine it being popular with guests of all ages, particularly those who enjoy bold and familiar flavours.
Festive Roasted Vegetables with Herbs
The Festive Roasted Vegetables with Herbs added even more colour to the table and helped balance the richer items in the menu.
Having both a fresh salad and roasted vegetables made the menu feel much more complete. The vegetables worked well as a side for the roasted chicken, salmon and sausages, while ensuring that the spread was not dominated entirely by meat and carbohydrates.
It might seem like a simple addition, but it made a big difference to the balance of the overall meal.
Seafood Paella Rice with Squid, Mussels and Prawns
The Seafood Paella Rice was another standout.
Made with USA rice, the paella had the right texture to accompany the seafood without becoming overly soft or heavy. It also came with squid, mussels and prawns, so the generous seafood selection was not limited to the separate velouté dish.
The rice tied the entire meal together and provided a satisfying base for the creamy chicken, salmon and seafood dishes. It was flavourful enough to enjoy on its own while still pairing well with the rest of the menu.
Rouge Noël Red Velvet Log Cake
A Christmas catering menu needs a festive dessert, and the Rouge Noël Red Velvet Log Cake provided a fitting finish.
Its rich red colour looked lovely as part of the Christmas spread and made it feel like a proper seasonal centrepiece rather than an afterthought. After the savoury dishes, it was nice to end the meal with something sweet and celebratory.
Iced Lemon Tea
The Iced Lemon Tea was a simple but useful addition to the party set.
Its refreshing citrus flavour accompanied the heavier festive dishes well, especially the mushroom cream gravy, black pepper sauce and seafood paella. Having a drink included also made the Xmas meal more convenient for anyone planning a small Christmas party.
Is the Chocolate FUNdue Made with KITKAT® Worth Adding?
Absolutely!
The Chocolate FUNdue Made with KITKAT® serves approximately eight to 10 people. It comes with bite-sized sweets, fluffy marshmallows and fresh seasonal fruits that guests can dip into warm chocolate.
I was particularly impressed that the chocolate came with its own heating pack. We could warm it before serving, allowing everyone to enjoy the fondue as intended.
This is a brilliant addition if children will be attending the party, as the dipping experience makes dessert much more interactive and fun. That said, the adults will almost certainly enjoy it just as much!
It creates an eye-catching festive centrepiece and gives guests something to gather around, making it well worth adding to a Christmas celebration.
Final Verdict: 5/5 for These Christmas Dishes
Overall, Le Rainbow Catering’s Xmas Menu is an excellent option for anyone searching for affordable Christmas catering in Singapore.
The menu offers an impressive variety of greens, meat and seafood, with generous portions and attractive presentation. The large, juicy prawns, fresh salmon, seafood paella, roasted chicken and black pepper bratwurst were particular highlights for me.
Everything looked colourful and premium, yet the price remained reasonable. The heating packs were another thoughtful touch, making it easy to serve the dishes warm even if guests arrived at different times.
My final rating is a definite 5/5.
