Liang Food Caterer Mini Package B Review

Liang Food Caterer Mini Package B Review

Hi everyone! I am back with another review and today, I will be reviewing Liang Food Caterer's
Mini Package B Menu at $18.80/Pax!
Before I start, here is a brief introduction about them.
Liang Food Caterer is a halal-certified caterer established in 1998 and
they have always been dedicated to serving excellent quality of food for all events across Singapore.

Does this menu exemplify their quality of food? Let's find out!

 1. Rendang Chicken

When you think of spice and chicken, you may think of Rendang Chicken. Rendang Chicken is an Indonesian dish eaten by almost everyone in Southeast Asia. It is
known for its rich gravy goodness and tender chicken. Despite the long cooking process, it is all worth it in the end.
The moment I took a bite out of this dish, I was on cloud nine as the chicken was really tender and the level of spice was just right for me- not too spicy and not too sweet. The gravy was very thick to the extent that it dried up so thinning out the gravy would make it more enjoyable for me. I would still recommend trying their Rendang Chicken even as someone who doesn't eat spicy food often!
Rating: 4/5

2. Grilled Sambal Fish
Here is another great spicy dish for you to try out! The grilled fish is pan-fried with sambal paste
and finished off with sliced green and red chilis with onions.
The Grilled Sambal Fish does not have a sweet aftertaste compared to the Rendang Chicken as it was spicy only.
Overall, it is a pretty decent dish for everyone to indulge in.
Rating: 4/5

3. Stir Fry Broccoli & Cauliflower with Mushroom & Oyster sauce

After all that spicy goodness, it's time to have something healthy with a bowl of vegetables on the table!
The broccoli was slightly harder than usual and crunchy after biting it.
As someone who likes softer broccoli it would be better if it was boiled first and then stir fried instead of
stir-frying broccoli immediately. That way, everyone can enjoy the dish especially the elderly who need softer food.
Rating: 3.5/5

4. Fried Rice Yong Chow
The classic favorite that everyone loves: The Fried Yong Chow. It's a popular Chinese-wok-style dish that is served everywhere today!
I must admit that among all the Fried Rice dishes I've tasted, this is one of the best-fried rice dishes
I've eaten.  This is because the dish was not oily and wasn't dry in texture. It had the taste of what Fried Rice is supposed to taste like!
Overall, it is a dish that cannot be missed!
Rating: 5/5

5. Fried Ebi Prawn with Mayonnaise

If you are a fan of Japanese Cuisine, their Fried Ebi is a dish not to be missed!
The Prawns were covered with egg, flour and bread crumbs and it's deep fried to golden brown.
The Ebi was crunchy as it should be but to my surprise, the prawn was quite skinny and small that
was covered mostly with egg and flour which left me disappointed.
Just adding a little bit more prawns will strike a balance between all ingredients and it will be perfect!
Nonetheless, it is still a good dish to try and dipping it with mayonnaise just enhanced the flavor even better!
Rating: 4/5

6. Tauhu Goreng

Did you know that the dish name Tauhu Goreng is a name used for any type of Tofu Dishes here and Malaysia?
Tauhu means tofu and goreng means fried so the direct translation in English is Fried Tofu!
It can be accompanied by any ingredients but in this case, it was accompanied by peanut gravy and shredded cucumber.
The tofu is firm and chewy and it blends well together with the gravy.
I recommend dipping the Tauhu Goreng with soy sauce or chill sauce to get that extra punch
of flavor or spiciness to your taste buds!
Rating: 4/5

7. Cheng Tng (Cold)

Last but certainly not least is their Cheng Tng. A smooth and refreshing dessert to cleanse your palate
 after all the savory indulgence.
Although the ingredients in this dessert vary, it is usually mixed with longan, white fungus, gingko nuts, red dates,
pearl barley, large sago pearls, lotus seeds and candied winter melon.
All these ingredients tasted good and had their own sweetness to them.
However, the soup base is slightly too sweet for my liking but if you have a sweet tooth,
this is a dessert that is worth every calorie!
Rating: 3.5/5

Conclusion
We have come to the end of the review and overall, I would rate their Mini Package B a 4/5!
It's a simple and hearty feast that is perfect for a family gathering or for a private event that everyone
can enjoy and it's definitely a must-try!
