Scrumptious Christmas Mini Buffet Review - A Generous Festive Spread at $22.90/Pax
Christmas gatherings are always something to look forward to, but planning the food can take a little more thought. You want enough variety to keep everyone happy, portions that comfortably feed the family, and a price that leaves room in the budget for presents.
We tried Scrumptious’s Xmas The Cosy Table Mini Buffet, available on FoodLine at $22.90 per pax. With a refreshing salad, roast chicken, hearty sides and chocolate cake, it brings together a comforting festive spread with a few interesting flavours along the way.
Our takeaway? It’s a good option for a family Christmas gathering, especially if generous portions and value for money are high on your list.
Roasted Beetroot, Orange & Feta Salad with Citrus Vinaigrette
Let’s start with our favourite dish of the spread: the salad.
The vegetables tasted very fresh, while the generous portion of feta made this feel far from an afterthought. Its savoury, tangy flavour worked beautifully with the sweetness of the beetroot and orange.
What really brought everything together was the citrus vinaigrette. The bright dressing complemented the ingredients well, giving each mouthful a refreshing lift. Among the heartier dishes on the table, this was the one we kept coming back to.
Pesto Genovese Pasta with Cherry Tomatoes & Parmesan
The pesto pasta brings a familiar, comforting element to the menu. Basil gives the dish its fragrant, herby character, while Parmesan adds a savoury richness.
Cherry tomatoes introduce a little sweetness and acidity, helping to balance the pesto and cheese. It’s an easy dish to pair with the chicken, fish or sausage, making it a useful centrepiece for a sharing spread.
Charred Broccoli & Cauliflower with Parmesan Herb Crumb
Broccoli and cauliflower get a festive upgrade here with a Parmesan herb crumb.
The combination brings together the vegetables’ mild sweetness, a lightly smoky flavour from the charring and a savoury finish from the cheese. The herb crumb adds texture and gives this vegetable side a little more personality alongside the mains.
It also adds welcome variety to a table filled with pasta, meat and dessert.
Orange Rosemary Roast Chicken with Pan Jus
This was our first time trying orange rosemary roast chicken, making it one of the more memorable dishes in the buffet.
Orange introduces a citrus sweetness, while rosemary brings a fragrant, savoury note. Served with pan jus, it offers an interesting variation on the familiar Christmas roast chicken.
If your family likes its festive favourites but wants to try something different this year, this dish is a good starting point. You get a little adventure in one main course while the rest of the spread remains approachable.
Mediterranean Dory with Tomato, Olive & Herbs
The Mediterranean dory adds another flavour profile to the table, pairing mild fish with tomato, olive and herbs.
Tomato brings a gentle tang, while the olives contribute a briny, savoury contrast. Together with the herbs, these ingredients give the fish a brighter character that fits well alongside the richer meat dishes.
It’s a welcome alternative for guests who prefer fish in their Christmas spread.
Black Pepper Sausage with Mushroom Peppercorn Sauce
For something heartier, there’s the black pepper sausage with mushroom peppercorn sauce.
This combination leans into savoury flavours, with pepper bringing a warming kick and mushrooms adding an earthy note to the sauce. It pairs naturally with the pesto pasta and vegetables, giving guests plenty of ways to build a satisfying plate.
Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake
A Christmas meal needs a sweet ending, and dark chocolate fudge cake rounds off this menu nicely.
The dark chocolate brings a deeper cocoa flavour, with a bittersweet edge to balance the sweetness. It’s a familiar, indulgent choice for a festive gathering—and a convenient way to include dessert without arranging a separate cake.
Our Verdict: 4/5! A Good-Value Christmas Mini Buffet for Families
Scrumptious’s Xmas The Cosy Table Mini Buffet earns a 4/5 from us for its generous portions, enjoyable variety and value at $22.90 per pax.
The roasted beetroot, orange and feta salad was our standout, especially for its fresh ingredients, generous cheese and well-matched citrus dressing. The orange rosemary roast chicken also deserves a mention for bringing something a little different to the Christmas table.
For families looking for affordable Christmas catering in Singapore, this is a menu worth considering. It covers the festive essentials without making the meal feel overly elaborate.
Planning a larger celebration? Scrumptious is also offering an early bird special of 8% off with a minimum spend of $1,000 for orders placed by 15 November 2026. Smaller family orders may not reach that threshold, so keep the minimum spend in mind when budgeting.
