With countless rounds of R&D, Stamford Catering has now launched their new line of rice bowls and they have so kindly sent over some for us to try! From Wagyu Beef Bowl to vegan Tofu Garden Poke Bowl, the variety of rice bowls they're offering this time is suitable for any kind of event and various dietary restrictions. Are you ready? Let's check out the review now!

Wagyu Beef Bowl

For beef lovers, this will definitely not let you down! Their pan-seared Wagyu beef is served over your choice of premium Japanese rice or brown rice, sous vice egg, caramelised onions, garlic crumble, red pickles with a drizzle of dashi soy sauce. The condiments, nori, white sesame, and spring onion add a crunch to the tender Wagyu and have the perfect balance of texture. I love that we have a choice of brown rice too, so for the ones who are health-conscious, don't worry and just dig in!

Unagi Bowl

As someone who's a little put off by the smell of fish, this was surprisingly easy to consume and enjoyable! The rice bowl consists of fresh unagi that's baked and lightly torched, tamagoyaki, chuka wakame, poached broccoli, pickled radish and drizzled with a katsudon sauce, and of course with a choice of premium Japanese white rice or brown rice. The taste of unagi can be strong sometimes, especially if you don't usually consume seafood but when eaten with the sweet tamagoyaki, the taste of unagi balances out and it's pretty enjoyable! The crunch from the condiments also adds an elevated texture to the soft unagi which is a good combination of ingredients.

Oriental Salted Egg Crab Bowl

This might look underwhelming and unassuming but trust me, imagine the surprise when I tried it! Served over a bowl of Japanese egg fried rice and topped with tempura salted egg crabmeat, kimchi crabmeat, tobiko, edamame, pickled vegetables, salted egg crumble, sous vide egg, silky egg garnish, and finished with a salted egg cream sauce. It may seem like a salted egg overload but what kept me going was the perfect balance of salted egg and crab flavour. Having too much salted egg can make you sick of the dish by the time you're done, but I love that the taste of salted egg in this rice bowl was enough for me to enjoy till the last bite! This was surprisingly my favourite rice bowl out of all the ones that Stamford Catering sent, and I'd definitely recommend this if you could only choose 1 flavour out of the list.

Grilled Chicken Burrito Bowl

Eating clean and green these days? The Grilled Chicken Burrito Bowl is suitable for the health-conscious as every bowl comes with a multigrain mix of quinoa, barley and couscous which provides you with a series of health benefits. It also comes with a very clean grilled chicken breast, edamame, sauteed corn kernel, roasted pumpkin, baked king oyster mushroom, poached broccoli, roasted cherry tomato, romaine lettuce and finished with a drizzle of lemon vinaigrette. Yes, I know it sounds clean and bland but with the sweetness of sauteed corn kernels and juicy baked king oyster mushroom, it's far from being bland. If you're looking to enjoy your meal while keeping it healthy, this is the perfect choice for you.

Tofu Garden Poke Bowl

If you're vegan, don't worry you're still invited to the party! Suitable for Vegans, the Tofu Garden Poke Bowl comes with a base of multigrain and loaded with marinated tofu, poached broccoli, roasted asparagus, sauteed corn kernels, roasted pumpkin, roasted cherry tomatoes and finished off with a vegan sweet soy sauce. This rice bowl is definitely the definition of no meat, no problem because this amazing rice bowl is nothing short of flavourful, with a delicious mix of bouncy tofu and crunchy multigrain! If you're looking for something healthy and yummy, this sweet and flavourful rice bowl definitely takes the cake for me.

Miso Mushroom Bowl

Suitable for Vegetarians, this bowl will delight even non-vegetarians! Served over a hearty bowl of your choice of premium Japanese rice or brown rice, miso mushroom, roasted pumpkin, edamame, red pickles, baby red radish, crispy quinoa and topped with condiments and miso sauce. It may look ordinary, but I love how the flavour and juice from the miso mushrooms burst in my mouth whenever I munch on it, and when eaten with the roasted pumpkin, the sweetness lingers in my mouth. For a vegetarian rice bowl, this definitely surprises me.
