Bud Of Joy Review - The BEST Pandan Cake in the WORLD!

I'm already SO excited to tell you guys about this amazing PANDAN Cake I found at Bud Of Joy Bakery!

My favourite Pandan Cake so far has been from Bengawan Solo but after eating this, I think I found my new favourite.

I was invited down to Bud Of Joy to see how their Signature Pandan Cake was made and was really impressed by the ingredients put into the cake!

Firstly, Bud Of Joy is a fully fledged ORGANIC bakery! This means every single ingredient put in is certified organic and so you can be really sure you're getting quality ingredients in what you eat.

Next, many Pandan Cakes use artificial colouring and flavouring to get that Pandan flavour but Bud Of Joy juices their own pesticide free, organic pandan leaves! Additional trouble but so worth it because the cake smelt SO GOOD, but I'll get to that later.

The batter was whipped up to get this amazing, fluffy consistency that looks just like a cloud! This was done by beating the egg whites and yolks separately for a really long time, and then folding them in.

One thing great about this cake is that minimal sugar is used as well, so you would not have to be worried about it being overly sweet.

TA-DAA! This cake isn't the Pandan One, but a similar fluffy cake thats uses REAL FRESHLY SQUEEZED organic oranges! When it came out of the oven, I was like "IT SMELLS SO GOOD!"

The cake was then cut into rectangular slices for sale. But I'm pretty sure one block won't be enough for anyone because its just THAT good.

Pretty sure some of you would be thinking, WHO CARES ABOUT ORGANIC FOOD? (Especially if you're still in the younger generation like me)

But even if you don't really bother about the cake being organic or not, this Pandan Cake is nonetheless delicious.

It is JUST SO SOFT,  I simply can't emphasise this enough so you have to get one to try but looking at this picture, the cake folds over so easily over the knife WITHOUT breaking! #EVIDENCE

I was given two flavours of this super fluffy cake to try - Pandan and Orange. I would say I liked the Pandan Cake more because I'm less of a citrus fruit person. However, both cakes were equally soft and incredibly yummy!

Another amazing thing about this super soft cake is that SOMEHOW, it still stays SOFT and FLUFFY after being put in the fridge!

I'm sure many of us know that once cakes are placed in our household fridges, it gets all hard and this literally takes away the joy of eating a cake that was actually yummy.

BUT THIS.

THIS CAKE STAYED SOFT AND FLUFFY WHEN I TOOK IT OUT FROM THE FRIDGE OVERNIGHT!

Plus, the moment I lifted off the lid of the box, the super fragrant Pandan smell filled my entire dining area. Pretty sure its because of the fresh pandan juice added into the cake. You would not get this with other bakeries who use colouring and flavourings.

Overall, my rating for this Pandan Cake is 10/10. No joke. You guys REALLY have to try it and I'm pretty sure it would be a hit adults and kids alike!

Aside from the Pandan Cakes, I was given a whole load of other treats to try. These would be a great idea for small parties as dessert table items, or a picnic table treat.

Vanilla Cream Puffs

The first item I tried were these cream puffs. The custard filling was really smooth and creamy, but was towards the bland side. Of course, Bud Of Joy minimises the use of sugar in their baked desserts so thats perhaps why it wasn't as sweet as I would have liked it to be.

But on a really hot day, this cream puff was really refreshing! Also, this sweetness is perfect for the older generation. I'm pretty sure my mum would approve.

Chocolate Fudge Cake

This chocolate fudge cake is another of their signature items that comes in a rectangular block form as well but this design is something NEW and really cute! I really love the pale pink heart design in the middle!

Admittedly, I'm not a chocolate person. Chocolate would be the last item on my list to ever eat. So I got my chocolate loving friend to try this cake and the verdict was that this cake is one of the BEST chocolate fudge cakes ever!

Its not only him, Bud Of Joy has many AMAZING reviews for their chocolate fudge cake! You will definitely NOT be disappointed when you buy this cake, this is a definite must have cake for all chocolate lovers!

Walnut Scones

I'm a huge fan of scones - Delicious, golden buttery ones with cranberries, slathered in cream...

These scones are slightly different, they are less buttery and have a more crumbly texture compared to traditional scone. However, I really liked this!

Firstly, these scones were jam packed with loads of walnuts! I really loved the crunchiness it added to the crumbly scone. Really glad they weren't stingy with the walnuts. Don't you hate it when bakeries just skimp on their ingredients? Bud Of Joy is definitely NOT that kind of bakery!

Secondly, these scones were made with wholemeal flour and oats which means they are really healthy! For those anti-wholemeal flour people, these scones will really change your mind!

Aside from the Pandan Cake, this is DEFINITELY my next favourite pastry from Bud Of Joy.

Chocolate Eclairs

The next item were these organic chocolate eclairs. Once again, I got my chocolate loving friend to try these for me and he polished off the entire box in mere minutes!

According to him, these eclairs were really creamy and the chocolate was really rich! Plus, these were bite sized pieces so a box is really great sharing with your friends and family!

Apple Cinnamon Muffins

These muffins were DIVINE and simply perfect for buttercream haters.

Sometimes, simple is the yummiest and at times, the buttercream overwhelms the cake which should be the main star of the show!

This muffin is creamless and super healthy AND yummy.

It was really soft and not like those dense, heavy muffins you usually get.

Mini Cupcakes

These cute mini cupcakes were the last item I tried.

Even though full from the other treats, these cupcakes were so good that I couldn't stop eating them! These vanilla cupcakes are slightly denser but just as delicious as the other bakes.

The buttercream to cake ratio was perfect and once again, these treats are not overly sweet!

In all, I really enjoyed these organic bakes from Bud Of Joy! Even though they are not overly colourful like those popular cakes of today, these simple bakes area really yummy. Most colourful, over the top cakes we see everywhere are filled with loads of sugar, preservatives and colouring. These additions are certainly less healthy than Bud Of Joy's natural, organic ingredients!

I personally recommend the Pandan Cake if you are interested in trying their bakes, its definitely worth trying!
