CAKEINSPIRATION review – Your Favourite Bubble Milk Tea made into Cakes!

I’m just another Asian girl stereotype – I live and breathe milk tea and I can safely say that I’ve tried countless variations of bubble milk teas, from the highly-raved brown sugar milk tea trend to the classic ones with black tapioca pearls. Needless to say, when CakeInspiration mentioned that they had Milk Tea Boba cakes to send over for us to try, my day was made!

Milk Tea Boba Cake

The cakes come with a hard plastic surrounding its circumference – for you to pull upwards and the Milk Tea cream to pour over the chiffon cake beautifully.
With a soft and jiggly chiffon cake, topped off with a thick slab of smooth Milk Tea cream, this is the epitome of a classic bubble milk tea transformed into a cake. I’m sure you would be curious as to how the cake tastes like! Starting from the top, the Milk Tea cream had a delicate milky flavour to it, and I could taste the combination of tea in it as well. This cake leans towards the sweeter side and I would recommend it if you have a sweet tooth and you like to drink milk tea on the daily!

As for the chiffon cake itself, red tea is infused into it and it had an overall mild flavour to it. The Milk Tea cream is the one you’ll taste the most when eating this cake, which I like to say is a creamy version of the usual milk tea. Completing the Milk Tea Boba cake are the toppings, of course! The tapioca pearls were super chewy, yet not mushy, and carried a hint of brown sugar. We liked that the consistency of the boba was the same throughout and didn’t turn rubbery after sitting out for some time. Props to CakeInspiration for the yummy boba!

Matcha Milk Tea Boba Cake

Using the same red tea-infused chiffon cake base, this one was topped off with a mildly flavoured Matcha Milk Tea cream. For fans of matcha, this cake is worth a try! The matcha flavour paired well with the milky-ness of the cream and didn’t overpower each other. If you want a taste of green tea without the powdery bitterness that its usually associated with, give this cake a try. I feel that this lightly flavoured Matcha Milk Tea Boba cake will be adored by children as well!

This cake was topped off with chewy tapioca pearls too, and everything blended well together while being gentle on your taste buds!
