If you are looking for simple, baked goods with nothing too flashy, Chanselle Bakery is the way to go! Sink your teeth into one of their handmade pastries and cakes and you'll experience a warm, cosy feeling. At least that's what I felt when I bit into their warm, flaky egg tarts!

Egg Tarts

These eggs tarts are a little on the sweet side and are perfect for those who enjoy sweeter custard. We love how smooth and silky the custard was, as well as its flaky crust!

Butter Cookies

Chanselle Bakery also offers really delicious butter cookies that would be perfect as part of a dessert table, or a gift! These yummy treats come with a variety of toppings, including Cranberry, Sprinkles and Almonds. Our favourite was definitely the Cranberry version as we felt that the chewiness and tanginess of the berry complimented the sweet buttery cookie well.

For chocolate lovers, Chanselle Bakery also bakes up really good chocolate cookies! These chocolate cookies have a subtle chocolate flavour that is not too overpowering which we love. However, if you like really flavourful, fudgy cookies, these cookies might not suit your taste!

Finally, we managed to try some of their Chocolate Chip Cookies! These cookies are a little different as they taste more salty rather than sweet. Also, they're in between being chewy and crispy. We felt that these cookies should have more chocolate chips as well, but they are perfect for those who want to indulge in less sinful treats as these cookies are not too sweet or buttery!

Assorted Muffins

Finally, we were given an assorted box of their signature muffins: Carrot Cake, Chocolate Almond and Banana Cake.

The Carrot Cake had LOADS of crunchy walnuts and the distinctive carrot cake taste. Once we took a bite, we couldn't stop! It was that addictive! However, compared to the other 2 flavours, this muffin was less moist and more dense.

Our favourite was the Banana Cake! It was really soft and fluffy, with a really strong banana cake taste. You could see that it was really baked generously with loads of bananas when you take a bite.

Lastly, we tried the Chocolate Muffin with sprinkled almonds. This muffin was SUPER chocolate-y and the almonds gave a nice crunch which paired well with the moist chocolate base. Overall, Chanselle bakery bakes up quite delicious treats. We would recommend the muffins over the cookies and egg tarts though, if you're not looking to order too many baked desserts!
