Eazti Gourmet Bakery Review - New Cakes Menu Inspired By Local Flavours!

If you're a fan of local flavours, these cakes are PERFECT for you!
Eatzi Gourmet Bakery has just launched 4 new cakes inspired by local flavours such as Bandung, Chendol, Ondeh Ondeh and Bubur Cha Cha!
The first cake we would like to introduce would be the Ondeh Ondeh Cake.
This cake is made out of a pandan chiffon cake with kaya and coconut filling, layered with gula melaka.

For these series of cakes, the layer of actual chiffon cakes are minimal and the focus is on the fillings. It might not be the cake for you if you love traditional sponge/chiffon cakes as these cakes reminded us of eating agar agar jelly.
Despite that, we felt that the Ondeh Ondeh cake was really delicious and tasted just like the original dessert!

Plus, within the cake are hidden chocolate balls with a gula melaka filling! We really enjoyed that element of surprise and the taste of exploding gula melaka.

The next cake is the Chendol Cake. Just like traditional Chendol Dessert, this cake comes with red beans and chendol filling, coconut and gula melaka crème brulee.

We felt that the amount of red beans could have been more generous but the overcall cake tasted really good.
This was a clear winner amongst everyone who was on the taste panel and would highly recommend this flavour to try!
Look at those fluffy airy layers! Yum yum.

The third cake is likely to be a hit with kids - Bandung Lychee!
As a kid, our favourite go to drink would always be Bandung. Something about that bright pink, overly sweet drink was so satisfying to go with Prata.

The cake is a rendition of that classic drink.
It is decorated with a drip trim and simple chocolate ornaments and a yummy heart candy.

The Bandung Lychee Cake consists of a combination of lychee and bandung mousse layered with sponge cake. Once again, the mousse is the focus of the cake as you can see from the ratio of the layers.

The final cake is Bubur Cha Cha -Â Vanilla sponge cake layered with coconut mousse, sweet potato mousse with jelly and yam curd!

This cake tasted EXACTLY like the traditional dessert.
This is a great "hipster" alternative for those who crave to Bubur Cha Cha but want something different.
Plus, it makes a great birthday cake option for the more traditional parents compared to overly sweet, over the top cakes.

In all, we really like how dainty and cute these cakes are! Sometimes its hard to finish a whole cake especially when the party is small (immediate family celebrations) and this 250g cakes allow you to avoid throwing away unfinished cakes!
