Frostylicious Cakes Review: Delicious Whole Cakes for Any Occasion

I'm someone who loves desserts, especially cakes! I always seem to have an insatiable appetite for such sinful treats and its likely that you'll catch me sneaking off to get some cakes to snack on at work!

I've tried so many different types of cakes from various bakeries till I'm practically the Queen of Cakes. Sometimes, its disappointing when I purchase an unpalatable cake but there are of course moments when I hit the jackpot and you can see my eyes just light up when I manage to score a good slice!

Recently, I experienced one of these "OMG, this tastes so good!" moments with Frostylicious Cakes.

Berry Berry Tea Cake

The first cake I tried was this Berry Berry Tea Cake and I instantly fell in love with it! Not only was the cake super soft fluffy, it was also the most refreshing cake I have ever tasted. The sponge had a subtle, pleasant tea flavour (apparently its a Berry Tea with Strawberry, Raspberry and Blueberry overtones) and it was not overly sweet which I appreciated. These days, many cakes are so overloaded with sugar that it become unbearable to eat after a few bites. However, this cake struck the perfect balance and would definitely be a hit with adults. Kids on the other hand might not be able to appreciate this simple flavour.

It was a little disappointing that I couldn't taste any lychee flavour in the Lychee buttercream. Still, this cake was so delicious that I didn't mind and proceeded to polish off my entire cake slice! I also love how rustic the cake looks, it would be perfect for an elegant 21st or a vintage tea party! Or, you could just get it to treat yourself without the need for any special occasion (cause that's what I plan to do, its THAT good).

Red Velvet and Peanut Butter Chocolate Cupcakes

Next, I tried two of their Signature cupcake flavours - Red Velvet and Peanut Butter Chocolate.

The Red Velvet cupcake was very fluffy and moist, with silky smooth cream cheese buttercream. Once again, the cake wasn't overly sweet and once I took a bite, I could not stop!

The Peanut Butter Chocolate cupcake was really good as well.

A point to note about me is that I'm not a fan of chocolate but I really enjoyed this cupcake because the peanut butter buttercream was so thick and creamy, it helped to mask the chocolate flavour of the base cake. Thus, this cupcake is perfect for those of you who love peanut butter as the buttercream was super flavourful!

Overall, these cupcakes are definitely one of the best I've ever tasted aside from Fluff Bakery and I've added them to my list of favourite cupcakes to order!

Lemon Curd Cake

The third baked treat I tried from Frostylicious Cakes was the Lemon C Cake. This cake is made out of vanilla cake layered with lemon curd and lemon frosting.

Personally, I didn't particularly enjoy this cake as it was too sweet for my liking but I do admit the Lemon Curd had a nice tangy taste.

Raisins & Rum Cake

As the name suggests, this cake is definitely not for kids! The chocolate buttercream was infused heavily with rum, which is a delight for those looking for a boozy treat but don't really want to bust out that alcohol cabinet.

Not only was the cake was garnished very generously with raisins, the interior layers were jam packed with them too! The raisins helped to balance to rum flavour perfectly too.

In all, my favourite cake was still the Berry Berry Tea cake because of its simple, light flavour that's super refreshing! However, the other cakes are just as delightful and you'll not be disappointed if you order from Frostylicious Cakes.
