Mhmm…. just by looking at this photo, it makes me want to eat Korean food again! You are probably intrigued by the different dishes on my plate or may be curious about how they taste like. This is the 10 Course Buffet Set from Gangnam Kitchen and I’ll be reviewing all the different dishes on my plate above!
Kimchi Seafood Fried Rice

First up! We have the Kimchi Seafood Fried Rice. It might look like an ordinary staple, but don’t be fooled by its simple appearance. The rice was aromatic and carried a slight scent of kimchi and seafood. The rice alone could be my main dish as it tasted really good on its own. There was a light sourness to the rice as well (from the kimchi used) which made it more appetising to have, and the freshness of the seafood used made it even better!

Fried Chicken Yaki Pasta

If you are a “noodle person”, you’ll love this! The richness and fattiness of the fried chicken pieces used has been absorbed by the pasta. This helped to create more depths and layers of tastes to this pasta dish as you could taste the seasonings of both the pasta and the fried chicken pieces. This resulted in a complex taste which was both flavourful and savoury.

Beef Bulgolgi with Onion Slices

This dish was probably my favourite dish out of all the dishes. The beef was marinated with the familiar Korean seasoning – the Bulgolgi sauce and the result was this flavourful and robust dish. This dish was a great complementary to the staple above, and was good on its own as well. However, to some, the beef might have a slight chew but I personally found them relatively tender and easy to eat.

Korean Sweet and Sour Chicken

From its appearance to its taste, the Korean sweet and sour chicken was a dish that did not disappoint. The chicken pieces were tender and fall apart easily with a single chew or two. Cooked with a sweet and sour sauce, it becomes an appetising and addictive dish.

Spicy Tteokbokki

If you are a fan of the Korean culture, chances are that you’ll be familiar with this dish. The rice cakes (Tteokbokki in Korean) were covered in this thick and rich sauce that has a nice kick to it. As the rice cakes and fish cakes were all sitting in the thick sauce for a while, the sauce has been slightly absorbed by them. This resulted in a flavourful bite. You’ll also be pleased to know that the spice level is tolerable by most people! It’s a good snack to have while chatting with your friends/attendees during your event!
Rating 3/5
Cheese Egg Roll

This was an egg-citing (exciting) dish for me and it definitely made it to the second spot on my favourites list. This dish was relatively light yet still tasted creamy which was a good contrast to the heavier dishes in this menu. The egg roll was cooked to perfection, the crust of the eggs was firm which allows it to hold onto the soft insides.

Chap Chae

Glass noodles were used in this iconic Korean dish. They are extremely silky and you could taste the natural sweetness in this dish from the various ingredients used such as the carrots and beansprouts. It was a relatively light dish and paired well with the other dishes on the menu.
Rating 4/5
Kimchi Pancake

The pancake was fried to perfection and was a great savoury to have! At first glance, you can see the firmness of the kimchi pancake and was well-fried. The pancake batter had the right consistency which made this dish not cloying and you could taste the kimchi with every bite. An overall good side to have alongside your mains.
Rating 4/5
Danpatjuk (Red Bean Soup with Rice Cake Balls)

The Danpatjuk is the perfect way to end your meal! It had a light and earthly taste that came from the red beans. The red bean soup was mildly sweet and the rice cake balls added great texture to the soup. This was a rather enjoyable dessert to have and a must try when ordering this menu!
Rating 5/5
Korean Seaweed Soup

If you’re looking for something to cleanse your palate after having the heavier dishes, then this Korean Seaweed Soup is for you! The seaweed soup has a rich “sea” taste that was a result of boiling the seaweed for hours. You could taste the freshness of the seaweed and accompanied with the flavourful broth, a warming soup for both your stomach and your heart!
Rating 4/5
Sujeonggwa (Cinammon Punch)

This drink had an aromatic scent and has a slightly sweet taste to it. It was definitely a refreshing drink to have on a hot day!
