Haikee Brothers Review

Let me start by saying wow. HaiKee Brothers’ is the go-to for soy sauce chicken, roast pork and BBQ pork. As a born and bred Singaporean, I’ve had my fair share of chicken rice all around the city. And, HaiKee Brothers is one of the best I’ve eaten. The quality of food from HaiKee Brothers are highly commendable and will not disappoint the high expectations of locals.
If you are hosting a party with friends and family from abroad, introducing chicken rice and roast pork from HaiKee Brothers will be the move. This is a meal that would bring people together through the love of food.
We were blessed to try the signature dishes from HaiKee Brothers: Signature Soy Sauce Chicken, Roast Pork, BBQ Pork, Dim Sum Platter and more! And with all my high praises, it goes without saying that plates were licked clean. Let’s get right into it!
Signature Soy Sauce Chicken

Aesthetics wise, they are spot on with the Signature Soy Sauce Chicken. At a glance, the chicken looks tender, juicy and moist. You know a chicken is done right when you see large pieces of the skin still lies on the meat. Personally, when I’m eating chicken rice, I need my sauces and HaiKee Brothers have 4 sauces!
Besides the chicken, the chilli sauce plays a big part, and this chilli sauce by HaiKee Brothers is amazing! First bite of the chicken with the chilli sauce is bliss, the second bite was heavenly and the third led me into addiction. You can never get enough of this tender, juicy soy sauce chicken! Worst thing about eating chicken rice and you get served chicken that are dry to the bone. Fret not, HaiKee Brothers’ Signature Soy Sauce Chicken is moist and meaty!

Crispy Roast Pork w Honey Glazed BBQ Pork

Crispy Roast Pork and Honey Glazed BBQ Pork. A match made in heaven, till death do they part. Just looking at this couple, you know they are going to taste good. The Crispy Roast Pork crowned with the golden skin, the Honey Glazed BBQ Pork that have just the right amount of burnt edges to really bring the taste to another level.
As expected, both the Crispy Roast Pork and Honey Glazed BBQ Pork are soft and tender. The Crispy Roast Pork has such a crispy and tasty crust, and the meat just melts in your mouth. Quite literally. The Honey Glazed BBQ Pork is has a delightful light sweetness to it and because it is sliced thinly, the meat tastes great! I know we all love the little bits of burnt BBQ pork, and that’s exactly what you get.

Hong Kong Kai Lan in Hai Kee Soy Oyster Sauce

This Kai Lan with HaiKee Soy Oyster Sauce is really a notch above others. I know many of us have had this dish but you should really try this one from HaiKee Brothers. The oyster sauce has garlic in it, so it makes the sauce a lot more fragrant and tasty! The vegetables are fresh and together with HaiKee Soy Oyster Sauce, makes this a side dish not to be missed!

Onion Omelette

The Onion Omelette gives a sense of home. It’s like you are back at grandma’s having dinner. The omelette was done right and had just the right amount of onions, so that the egg could hold them together nicely. Plain omelettes are great but onion omelettes are even better! This is a side dish that complements well!

HK Lava Eggs

This is one dish out of everything that surprised me. When a Japanese Hanjuku egg meets a Chinese Braised Egg, you get this perfect Lava egg. That’s exactly what it is. Do not belittle this egg, it’s packed with flavour, and the yolk, is the best part of it all. It’s gooey, tasty and everything you could ever wish for in a half-boiled egg done right.

Siu Mai & Ha Kau Platter

This dim sum platter consists of Siu Mai and Ha Kau. I’ve never been a huge fan of Siew Mai, because it can be too tough at times but this Siu Mai was surprisingly tender. You can really taste pieces of prawns inside and not just a mashed up mess like others. The Siew Mai was stuffed with a fair amount of prawns and meat but the skin might be a little too thick. Other than that I would give this dish a go for those that are craving some dim sum to go with your meal!

Braised Tau Kwa

The Braised Tau Kwa is a great side dish to go along with your chicken! It is soft and fresh and would be great for children! Did you know that tau kwa are high in protein and is good for the heart as it is high in antioxidants!

Braised Chicken Gizzard & Liver

Not many have the stomach to eat chicken innards, but if you are serious about your chicken rice game then you should really try this Braised Chicken Gizzard and Liver. It tastes fresh and flavours are locked in, unlike some others that might taste “smelly”. If you are looking for a good time to step up your game, the time is now.

Fragrant Rice

Right after the chicken, comes the fragrant rice. The rice can really make or break the entire meal. And I am glad to announce that HaiKee Brothers did not disappoint. The rice is fragrant and you sure to have a second serving. The rice has just the right amount of fluff and looseness to it, it’s how fragrant rice should be.
