Have you heard of Pineberry?

Have you heard of Pineberry?

The name Pineberry came from the combination of these two fruits - the pineapple and strawberry. Pineberry is a hybrid of the wild South American strawberry which grows wild in some parts of Chile and the North American strawberry. Therefore, pineberry fruit is made by cross-breeding and not genetically modified.

Pineberry plants are grown just like how normal strawberries are grown, with one distinct difference. In order to produce a large amount of pineberries, it is necessary to have a pollinator strawberry in close proximity. Therefore, for every four plants, it is good to have one strawberry plant in between for pollination purposes. To maintain the pale white appearance of the pineberries, it is always good to grow them in a glass house or other growing system.

Pineberries like what its name suggests, has the taste of both pineapple and strawberry. However, the taste of pineapple is not very strong and hence its taste is not noticeably different from a normal strawberry. The price of pineberries are 7.99 USD per box and normal strawberries are just 3.99 USD.

However, some of you might have heard of the Japanese White Jewel which is much more expensive than pineberries. Do not get confused by their appearance as their breeds are different. Hence the difference price tags to the Japanese White Jewels and pineberries. A Japanese White Jewel can cost 10 USD which is much more pricier than pineberries.
