Hong Kong Fried Egg Noodle

When we first took off the lid, the ‘wok hei’ aroma of the Hong Kong Fried Egg Noodle hit our senses and we immediately wanted to dig into it first. Coming with a generous portion, the noodles were springy and not soggy, which I appreciated especially since it was kept in its packaging for some time before reaching us. The side ingredients used such as capsicums and other vegetables added bite and dimension – overall working in perfect harmony as a complete dish on its own. My colleagues and I enjoyed this one very much.

Curry Chicken with Potato

A classic local dish no matter where you’re from, most are familiar with this homely dish. With so many versions of the same dish, it can be hard to compare which ones are the tastier, more scrumptious ones! That being said, Le Xin Catering Group cooked up a fiery Curry Chicken that held just the right amount of spice, savouriness, and earthiness. With the tender-cooked chicken and potatoes cooked till soft, the ingredients soaked up the curry and was very satisfying in every bite. If there’s just one dish out of this whole mini buffet I’d recommend you try, it’ll be this one!

Crispy Handmade Beancurd

The Crispy Handmade Beancurd consisted of fried Beancurd with fresh broccoli florets, a simple dish yet one that would be devoured very quickly. I like this dish because you get this crispy outer layer and bite into smooth beancurd on the inside, it’s not a fancy dish but definitely one that everyone can enjoy together! Coated with a generous serving of savoury gravy and minced pork, the dish also carried an earthy mushroom flavour that reminded me of the comfort of homemade meals.

Signature Handmade Ngoh Hiang

One of my favourite hawker fried snacks, Le Xin Catering Group’s Signature Handmade Ngoh Hiang was noteworthy – retaining the familiar savoury taste, yet somehow managing to be less oily than some you might find elsewhere. The Ngoh Hiang was fried till golden brown and leaned more towards the sweeter side of the spectrum in terms of taste. Regardless of age, this will be great served as an appetizer before the main dish!

Indonesian Nonya Kueh

Last but not least, we had the Indonesian Nonya Kueh, which consisted of 3 different types of Kuehs – such as Kueh Lapis and Kueh Salat. This brought me back to the past when my mother would buy me these as a snack, because of it’s bite-sized convenience. Finish off your savoury meal with a few of these classic, Indonesian Kuehs and I promise you’ll end the meal with a huge smile on your face! Taste-wise, these are not overly sweet and you won’t get ‘jelak’ over these because of its miniature size. The steamed glutinous rice bits were also soft and sticky, complementing its sweet custard top layer!
