Quick Deepavali Sweets Recipes To Impress Your Guests
Deepavali or Diwali is celebrated on 14 November this year. Preparing, enjoying, and distributing delicious snacks between family and peers is one of the Indian cultures that has been followed from ancient days. Why not learn a few simple recipes an impress your guests? Here we have a few delectable Diwali Sweets that you can make and relish at home!
1. Chawal Ki Kheer

Chawal Ki Kheer is an easy-to-make rice pudding. Fragrant Basmati rice simmered in whole milk sweetened with sugar, makes this the perfect dish to celebrate the festival of Diwali.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 Cup Basmati Rice
- 6 Cups Milk
- 3/4 Cup Condensed Milk
- 1/4 Cup Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Green cardamom powder
- 10 Gram Almonds (slivered)
For garnishing:
- 20 Gram Slivered Almonds
- 30 Gram Pistachio nuts (whole)
How to prepare:
- Pick, wash, and soak rice for 20 minutes.
- Drain and rinse the rice again and set it aside.
- In a heavy bottomed pan, boil milk and add the drained and rinsed rice.
- Simmer it for 20 to 25 minutes, while stirring it continuously. Add condensed milk.
- Mix well.
- Add sugar, cardamom powder and slivered almonds. Mix well.
- Serve hot or chilled garnished with slivered almonds and roasted whole pistachio nuts.
2. Patishapta

Patishapta is a thin crepe made with refined flour, rice flour and semolina. It is stuffed with a tasty coconut and jaggery filling.
Ingredients:
- For the batter:
- 1 cup Refined flour / maida
- 1/2 cup Sooji (semolina)
- 1/4 cup Rice flour
- 1 1/2 - 2 cups Milk
- To cook Oil
- For the filling:
- 3 cups Coconut / khoya, grated
- 2 tbsp Sugar / date jaggery
- 3-4 Green cardamoms
How to prepare:
- Add maida, sooji and rice flour in a bowl.
- Add milk. Mix it carefully not making any lumps. Keep the mixture for half an hour.
- Heat the non-stick pan. Put a little oil. Pour a thin layer of the mixture on it and spread it quickly with the ladle.
- Put the filling lengthwise at the center of it and roll it. Wait till the colour is light brown.
- Place it on the plate. Serve hot or cold.
- You can pour condensed milk over it before serving.
3. Coconut Til Ladoo

Coconut Til Ladoo is made with only three ingredients - coconut, sesame seeds and dates. The recipe uses dates as an alternative to sugar, so you don't have to worry much about the calories!
Ingredients:
- 2 Cups white sesame seeds
- 1 1/2 cup dates, chopped
- 1 cup dry coconut, grated
How to prepare:
- Finely chop the de-seeded dates.
- Dry roast sesame in a wok for around 1-2 minutes on medium flame until it turns light golden.
- Keep aside the sesame to cool.
- Add coconut to the wok. Stir well.
- Lightly grind the cooled sesame in a dry grinder for a few more seconds. Don’t grind it too fine!
- Take the ground sesame seeds in a bowl. Add in the chopped dates and coconut powder, and mix well.
- Take a small amount of mixture and roll it in hand to form a ball or ladoo. You can roll the ladoo in some coconut powder to add texture.
