Sinpopo Review – Get a taste of western style cakes infused with local ingredients!

Sinpopo, a retro brand that takes pride in offering their customers with simple nostalgic local desserts and food.

Recently, Sinpopo delivered to us their famous Pulut Hitam (Black Glutinous Rice) dessert to try. The cake was simply magically light from the moment we cut through the soft sponge and cream. It is made from black glutinous rice flour (gluten-free), with a generous filling of traditional Pulut Hitam, light and fresh coconut cream icing and topped with roasted Pulut Hitam crunch.

The additional topping of Pulut Hitam crunch helped to add on an extra crunch element which complemented well with the soft sponge and balance the overall texture of the cake. This reinvention of the traditional Pulut Hitam dessert sure was a smart move as it left all of us coming back for second servings!

Hurry place your orders now HERE, and indulge in this dee-licious creation!

Sinpopo also offers a range of other tarts and cakes that are to die for! This Christmas, they have also specially crafted traditional log cakes with a twist to add more joy to your festive celebration, such as their Dadar Logcake.  It consists of a generous spread of grated coconut soaked in Gula Melaka, which is  then rolled up in a moist and soft Pandan swiss roll, covered with a light layer of coconut cream.

Below are a few other interesting local cakes that Sinpopo offers:
