Some Good News Around The World

2020 has been rough, very rough and many things are quite uncertain still. So let’s talk about some positive things that happened around the world recently.

• People are installing portable hand-washing sinks for the homeless in cities across the US

By installing these portable sinks, it helps homeless people wash their hands from time to time. This project is done by a Georgia-based non-profit organisation dedicated to help the homeless people wash their hands throughout the covid-19 outbreak.

This campaign name is called “Love Sinks In” with the hope of supporting neglected people during this pandemic.

• Gym Owner gives out all his equipment so that members can work out at home

With gyms closed across many countries, it can be quite hard to workout at home without the usual equipment.

A generous gym owner in Illinois decided to do something so that his customers can continue to stay active and meet their fitness goals at home.

Drew Whitted, owner of the Be Strong Gym in Illinois, allowed his members to sign out more than $40,000 worth of workout equipment to use at home and it is entirely free of charge.

Despite being a small business owner, he still promised that he will continue to pay all his 8 employees and offered members a free month when the quarantine is over.

• Nike donates tens of thousands of shoes they designed exclusively for healthcare workers

Nike designed a special athletic shoe for healthcare workers so that they can withstand 12-hour shifts. They have donated 30,000 pairs to hospitals across the United States and 2,500 to hospitals in Europe.

The company is also sending more than 100,000 additional apparel items, including compression socks as a ‘thank you’ to frontline workers.

Despite this whole pandemic situation, remember to be kind to people around you, it goes a long way. At the end of the day, we want everyone and every country to get out of this unfortunate situation together.
