Viral TikTok Cloud Bread Recipe
Loved the dalgona coffee and pancake cereal trend? Here is another food trend that has been going viral on TikTok. After watching videos of people tearing apart and squishing their TikTok cloud bread, I just had to make some myself!
What is TikTok cloud bread?
If you have browsed through #cloudbread, you have probably seen some of the fluffiest bread to ever be made. Cloud bread is a low-carb alternative to traditional bread, and since its cornstarch base is derived from the crop itself, it is also naturally free of gluten. All you need is egg whites, sugar, and cornstarch. With that, let us move on to the recipe!
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 20 minutes
Total time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:
- 3 large egg whites (about 6 tbsp)
- 5 tbsp sugar ~30g
- 1 tbsp cornstarch ~10g
- Food colouring (optional)
Instructions:
1. Firstly, heat the oven to 300° In the bowl of a stand mixer, whip your egg whites on medium high until frothy.

2. Add the sugar slowly (1 tbsp at a time), and whip on high until small bubbles start to form.

3. Sift in the cornstarch and continue to whip on high until the egg whites are whipped into a thick glossy meringue that holds a peak.


4. Scoop the mixture out on to a piece of parchment paper lined baking sheet and shape into a fluffy cloud or mount.

5. Bake for 20-25 minutes. The exterior should be a light golden brown. Let it cool and enjoy the fluff!

Taste Test
My final product did not turn out that well as I left it out to cool for too long! Overall, the cloud bread has a light and airy texture, like a marshmallow. However, taste wise, it was more on the sweeter side. Do try this recipe out for yourself and let us know how it turns out!
