Yeyeah Delights Review - Nutritious Bentos Suitable for Anyone!
Yeyeah Delights Review
Given the plethora of restaurants and eateries serving up portions with lesser calories in recent years, eating healthy has never been easier! While you might be scratching your head trying to figure out what to have for dinner, perhaps you can consider food delivery services like Yeyeah Delights that serve up wholesome meals to your doorstep!

While some Tingkat services rely heavily on MSG and salt to enhance the flavour of a dish, Yeyeah Delights prepare their meals with healthier ingredients and cooking methods to suit the palates of the health-conscious. Moreover, the meals are designed by a clinical dietitian, ensuring that nutritional content of each dish is assessed and approved. Salt, sugar and fat content in each meal pack is kept minimal and printed clearly on the nutrition labels. Hence, individuals who are on a weight loss regime can keep track of their calorie intake.

Yeyeah Delights offers four different types of meal plans (family, weight loss and soup meals) to cater to the needs of their customers. We were provided with a 2 pax Family Meal Plan for 5 days, which includes a bento with rice, vegetables and a meat/fish. Each meal pack also comes with a soup bowl. Similarly, there are nutrition labels on the soup. Menu for July can be found here!
One unique feature of Yeyeah Delights is that all meals are freshly prepared in their HACCP certified kitchen, using locally sourced ingredients with no added preservatives. Apart from serving healthier bentos, the food prepared is sealed in a plastic bento box, and chilled (not frozen) to a temperature of 0 to 6 degree celsius right after cooking. Hence, freshness of the meal packs is maintained for up to 3 days from preparation. The meal packs can then be heated up using a microwave or by steaming for 10 minutes.
As for delivery, Yeyeah Delights delivers on Mondays and Wednesdays for all meals. Our colleague received the 5-day dinner meal for 2 in a bento box, delivered to her home on Monday and Wednesday.
Day 1
Rice with Fishball, Black Pepper Chicken and Vegetables
Seaweed Chicken Soup

Day 2
Steamed Fish with Crab Claw and Vegetables
Winter Melon Chicken Soup

Fish instead of chicken was served on Day 2. The steamed fish was tender and the gravy was tasty. Usually caterers are stingy with fish portions but there were plenty in this meal pack! The vegetables are different daily and today we were given stir fried kailan that was not oily but fresh and crunchy. The Crab Claw was a nice addition to the meal. The Winter Melon Chicken Soup was tasty and delicious. The chicken was tender and flavourful, enhanced by the rich broth it was soaking in. For our serving of soup, there were bite sized pieces of white radish and chicken cubes as well as red dates in the bowl.
Day 3
Mushroom Rice with Black Fungus Chicken and Vegetables
Cream of Broccoli Soup

On Day 3, we received Mushroom Rice instead of steamed rice, a welcoming change to the meal packs! The Black Fungus cooked with Chicken was really yummy! The chicken thigh was tender, complementing the black fungus, which was crunchy. The gravy was savoury and was a good match with the boiled vegetables. Instead of the usual soups, cream of broccoli soup was served today. The soup was comparable to that of those found at restaurants. It was seasoned just right and was really creamy even though it did not contain cream. You could also see pieces of broccoli inside the soup which meant that real broccoli was used rather than using an extract. All in all, it was a really satisfying meal today!
Day 4
Hongkong Styled Fish with Nuggets and Vegetables
Chicken and Corn Soup

Day 5
Rice with Teriyaki Chicken, Ngoh Hiang and Vegetables
Lotus Chicken Soup

To sum up my experience with this 5-day dinner meal for 2, we definitely enjoyed the food! The meal packs were nutritious and well-balanced - carbohydrates, proteins and fibres were carefully calculated for every meal. The dishes were also prepared using healthier cooking methods. Portion-wise, it was sufficient, and you do not have to worry about having not enough food. If I were to choose a favourite, I'll pick the soups as they were flavourful and delectable and were boiled to perfection. On the other hand, I wish that they could include other types of rice for other days, like what they did with the mushroom rice on Day 3. It would have been better if we were given another day of Western cuisine just to spruce things up!
Ultimately, Yeyeah Delights appeal to those who value convenience and health. Even if you are too busy to cook after a long day at work, you can simply heat up a meal pack to enjoy at any time you wish. So easy and convenient!
