Mei Hao 99 Catering

Portion was huge and for 3 pax provided 2 soup. But the dinner delivery of the meal was as early as 2.40pm

Food taste is not bad. it tooks too long to delivery. sometime food become bad. generally is good...

Food portions were generous but soup was miserable, I ordered for 5 pax and the soup was barely enough for 3 bowls. Soups generally very oily. Food wise, portions were good but they were very oily and seasoned heavily. We felt very thirsty after each meal. Food didn’t seem very fresh too. Prob will not order again.

The food is ok, some fried food is quite hard though but edible. It reached about 4pm to 4.30pm. Worth trying.

It appears that Mei Hao has 2 different cooks. Most of the time the food is bland. By the 3rd day we wanted to switch to a different caterer but was informed there would be no refund for doing so which meant we had no choice but to continue trying to eat the tasteless food. We had ordered for 3 persons but most of the time it seemed the food was for only 2 persons. We had also requested for no pork but every now and then they gave us pork like minced pork with toufu. Overall score 4.5 only.

Small Serving. One of the vegetables turned sour when delivered to me. Both my husband and I tasted that it is sour and spoilt and discarded the entire dish. Have feedback to Meihao but they claimed that perhaps i do not like their style of cooking. No further follow up action was done. Poor Customer Service.

We write with great disappointment.

We decided on a last minute party, hence only Meihao99 was able to cater to our date and venue. For that, we thank you.

We invited 45 guests on my baby girl’s 1st birthday and we catered 45pax exact for the lunch even though some guests have informed us that they won’t be eating. We indicated 12pm as the delivery time and 3.30pm as the pick up time.

The first-time experience with this caterer was definitely a disastrous one.

1). Insufficient Quantity
The food arrived at 1050am, and set up at around 1130am. I then noticed the food quantity looked like it’s for around 30+ pax! Some of the dishes not even with food covering the base of the warmer try! We immediately called the office just in case they delivered the wrong order. However no one picked up the phone. Panicked, so we dashed out of the function room to buy more food such as MacDonald chicken drumlets, nuggets, pizza, Kuehs and even bakkwa! However, aft adding so much food, the catered food from Meihao 99 was still barely enough. Please refer to the photos below for the amount of food left just right before cake-cutting ceremony (nt all guests have taken yet at that moment). And also, there were not enough plates, forks and spoons that we have to go out to buy more. We have organised numerous events and never once we encountered this problem. It was such an embarrassing moment when guests have to stand at a corner waiting for us to buy the plates.








2) Diluted Dessert and Drink
Next, the sea coconut dessert we ordered has very little amount of sea coconut, mostly are just ice and syrup. The drink was also rather diluted that we couldn’t tell that it’s sea coconut. It’s totally unlike other caterings. And the lychee drink we ordered was extremely diluted too, we have a cup right after the set up, and it tasted like plain water. I couldn’t imagine what the guests would feel as they arrived later.

3) Incorrect timing
As I have explained earlier, we informed Meihao99 that we would need the food at 12pm and pick up at 3.30pm. However, the food came with a notice that the food was prepared at 9.30am and have to be consumed by 1.30pm! They set up the table by 11.30am which I guess is fine as they need some buffer time. However, the staff came at 2+pm, and some of my guests don’t even dare to take more food (though also not much left by then) when they saw the workers standing at the side waiting to clear the trays. They were nice though, that they did not disturb till we signalled.


I am not sure why Meihao99 can have this kind of standard when the review is reasonably good.

For your consideration if you are planning to cater for your event, don’t let it spoil your mood.

For us, this will be the first and last.

Order came half an hour late. Everyone was already at the location including my 90yr old grandma whose birthday we are celebrating. Really disappointed as it’s a really bad experience given that it’s not the first time we are ordering from Meihao and with really good past experiences. This time, they really fell short.

Food wise, the fish with oats is hard like rocks. It was barely touched. The duck was rubbery and it was also barely touched. Curry chicken was thumbs up so was the ornee sweet yam dessert.

Food portion seems abit less for 35 pax. Food taste okay. Butterfly prawn was hard.
Ordered for 5.45pm. Food arrive on time but the tag on the food shows to be consume by 6.45pm by nea guideline. Shocked as food from caterer usually last for 4 hours only this caterer food can last for 1 hour. It means this caterer cook the food way early in advance. Very unprofessional.

Service staff were inflexible and did not provide sufficient and accurate information when queries were raised with regards to the buffet. Food portion was good.
