Mei Hao 99 Catering

Portion was big, foods are delicious.

Foods is not bed, delivery late about 1 hrs very disappointed, after collection, never clean the place... Curry soup leak along the corridor, we have to clean it.... Rubbish never being down to the collection center and just let it a side and we have to being it down to the rubbish collection center...very poor and sad !!!!

They are accommodative to my request to have half rice and noodle. Food came 30 mins later than stipulated time. Portion is generous. Overall food taste pretty good except for the fried rice w shrimp which is so dry and hard and there isn't any shrimp spotted. The oat battered sliced fish though smells good but all stick together and can't really taste fish meat but mainly the soggy deep fried oat battered. Perhaps is the way of presenting. This dish is on a oval plate covered with wrap. And the pink guava is like ice plain water, I am glad I had sea coconut w fungus as desert, we were drinking the desert water which taste so much better than the pink guava as drink. The braised duck is really good, is a must to have. The ingredients for Ee Fu noodle is so generous unlike the fried rice. You could really see whole mushroom and prawn. It never turned soggy even towards end of party. The coffee pork rib not so fantastic as it is quite hard.

Overall, food was amazing with the exception on the crispy wanton.

The food is pretty ok. Thumbs up for the timely and good service! More warmers should be provided.

Let's start of with whats good: The red bean soup was delicious and the delivery guy was very friendly. Good amount of utensils and cutlery given. Set up was fast and efficient. Mei Hao staff was also very accommodating when we wanted to change some of the items.

However, there were many disappointments.

Firstly, we were advised to state the delivery time as the time that the guests will arrive (which we had indicated as 6.45pm), and we were assured that the caterer would come around 30 minutes earlier to set up so that the food will be ready by the time we have indicated. It turned out that the caterer will come and set up at around 6.45pm. He came at around 7pm. By the time everything was ready, it was 7.30pm. With no one answering Mei Hao's number that day, it was extremely frustrating just waiting for the caterer to arrive.

We were very surprised (unfortunately, in a bad way) about the quantity of food. Having read many reviews regarding Mei Hao 99. we expected generous servings and proportions. However, the food was definitely not enough. We had 34 guests, and was advised to order for 30. Items such as the broccoli, fish, prawns and pork ribs ran out very quickly, such that we had a few guests who did not get to eat these items. There was a good amount of pineapple fried rice though - a full pan, the rest were all in half-pans.

And, lastly the drink. We ordered pink guava, and it was ridiculously sweet. After stirring the cordial and adding about 2 1.5L bottle of water, it was unbearably sweet. Our cordial was still almost full when the caterer came to clear the buffet.

The Food was good and the person who set-up was also very friend.

I have been a loyal customer of Meihao99 since I first found them. They never failed us on their food quality. Always consistant and customer service is prompt and friendly. As I ordered for 50 pax, the cs lady Diana was nice to offer me a split-up of staple food, meaning I can take half portion bee hoon and half portion rice. Initially i was worried that the half portion might not be enough for my 50pax guest, but Diana assured me that extra will be given and should be more than enough. They gave me 1 big heapful tray of bee hoon and 1 heapful Big tray of rice! It's really way more than enough!

However, this time the delivery man was very unfriendly. Initially the delivery man requested that both glass panel door to the event hall to be opened. When we checked with the management, we were told that 1 panel was not working, so only one side can be opened. When we told the delivery man this, he gave us a very black face and was grumbling through the setup. We can see he is venting his anger by throwing some stuff on the floor. We choose to ignore him as it was not our choice that the door is not working.

Anyway food wise, Meihao99 never fails. But I made a mistake this time by ordering the Tempura Fish. I thought it is whole piece of fish chunk fillet, but it turn out to be those fish fillet (like fish cake) where you get from those economic bee hoon stall. And also the spring roll is already soggy when when it arrive. Other than that, all food was delicious, especially their curry chicken.

Foodwise, taste was average. Food portion was more than sufficient. The presentation is also good. The provided cutlery sets were generous. Overall, it was satisfactory.
