Sembawang Eating House Seafood Restaurant

Buffet setup and service were good but rather disappointed with the food. Feel that those good reviews were over-rated, if not, I was just unlucky.

The service is good but food can be improved. The Hong Kong noodle is rather tasty but the pineapple fried rice is too bland.

The curry chicken is good. Food in general is so so nothing special. The mixed vegetables is too cooked. Delivery is early.

Very affordable, they kindly agreed to switch 2 of it to vegetarian to cater to our needs. rice was decent, chicken & veg were pretty good.

We were disappointed and will not be ordering from this restaurant again. Their signature dishes didn't live up to their reviews. Not only did they missed out delivering the rice that our visiting relatives waited for, but the rice delivered was also of poor grade. The rice was not even full grain. The Tropical Fruit Platter was pathetic and poor quality, better to remove it from your buffets.

No. The food is not worth the money. I had ordered from another caterer that had similar dishes which costs cheaper, the food tasted better and the service is also better. Overall, I won’t order from this caterer again.

My first time ordering from this caterer. It was a bad experience as the food was supposed to be ready at 12pm and they only came to set up at 12pm. What was worse was they did not come and collect back everything till after 6pm. Quality of food is also below average. Caterer also forgot to bring spoons and said he will go and buy. It was already after 12pm and all my guests were present will not try them again.

Good Service with Healthy Choices

The quality dont look like for 40 persons sharing. It portion is too little, changed the mee hoon to 2 different types but dont expect cater only prepare 1 or 1.5 per piece for 40 persons. Hotdog bun was the disappointed food :(

1. With the exception of Watermelon Sago, the other dishes were just edible to fill stomach. Pretty ordinary. No wow factor in terms of taste. Majority of my relatives either had no comment or said it’s so so only.
But judging from the fact that we had to throw 1.5 tubs of Watermelon Sago (caterer provided 2 tubs), spoke for itself that most of the guests didn’t bother to sample it.
2. No table plastic was provided. Plastic cutlery, paper tissue styrofoam plates provided was insufficient, Had to rush back home & ran back to function room to get our own extras.
3. Some portions of White radish strips in Prosperity Bao Pian Yu Sheng tasted a bit sour.... we discarded the uneaten balance. Luckily we had prepared amply our own separate Abalone Yu Sheng. Hmmm, by the way, no disposable chopsticks provided for this complimentary dish. Maybe it’s free, so we were not provided disposable chopsticks. LOL.
4. Food portion rather small; like meant for 15 pax (& not 25 pax which I ordered). Had we not prepared a huge pot of our own dishes (ginger vinegar pig trotter, some steam yam cake & “Lu Tan” in dark sauce) with lots of cut fruits to supplement, the portion of cateted food would not be enough to go around.
5. Overall, it’s average food quality. small serving portions & insufficient disposable cutlery & serviette provided.
Recommendation: Won’t order again from this caterer.
