She truly deserves 5 out of 5 stars for her exceptional customer service. ... More ❌ Worst Disappointment: Bo Bo Cha Cha (Cold) Barely recognisable as Bo Bo Cha Cha! It was almost entirely plain coconut milk diluted with melted ice, as if the kitchen had simply forgotten to prepare it properly. The core soul of this traditional dessert—the rich aroma of Gula Melaka (Palm Sugar)—was completely missing, leaving it tasting like plain coconut milk and ice water. There were fewer than 10 tiny, scattered pieces of yam and sweet potato in the entire 25-pax container. To make matters worse, all the sago pearls were stuck together in hard, unappetizing clumps. Paying for a bowl of plain ice-coconut milk under the guise of a premium dessert is an absolutely unacceptable standard. We ordered a catering buffet precisely for the convenience of hosting our guests smoothly, but having such a disastrous dessert forced us to rush around making backup arrangements last minute. It left us completely caught off guard, frantic, and extremely upset on the day. ❌ Other Serious Issues 1. Golden Treasure Cereal Prawns (麦片虾) False advertising! Look at the photos—this barely qualifies as cereal prawns. The cereal was so pathetically scarce that it looked like the prawns just had a few fine crumbs of dandruff dusted over them. You practically have to search for the cereal with a magnifying glass. There was absolutely none of the fragrant, crispy, abundant coating that a proper cereal prawn dish must have. Furthermore, the prawn quality was highly inconsistent; some pieces looked and tasted stale, poorly cleaned, or undercooked, raising serious food safety concerns. 2. Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce (鸡肉沙爹) Standard catering practice dictates that the satay and peanut sauce must be served separately so guests can add as much as they need. Instead, the entire portion of thick sauce was poured directly all over the skewers inside the tray. This highly unprofessional presentation made the food look like a messy puddle, leaving all the bamboo sticks completely drenched and sticky. It was unhygienic, messy, and extremely difficult for guests to pick up cleanly. 3. Prawn Paste Chicken (中翅虾酱鸡) The seasoning was unbalanced. The chicken was noticeably over-salted (偏咸), which overpowered the natural chicken flavour. ✔️ Acceptable / Good Items Spare Pork Ribs (排骨王), Sea Bass Fillet (金目鲈鱼柳), Broccoli with Scallops (带子西兰花): Satisfactory and met basic expectations. Kampong Fried Mee Siam (干炒米暹): The flavor was good. However, as a primary staple dish (主食) that is supposed to ensure all 25 guests are well-fed, the portion size was noticeably lacking and rather stingy. Staples are typically expected to be served generously, so this was a disappointment. Signature Curry Chicken (咖喱鸡): Absolutely phenomenal! This was the ultimate highlight of the entire menu. The portion was incredibly generous, the chicken was tender, and the curry gravy was exceptionally delicious. If only the rest of the food matched this standard. Conclusion: We paid a total of $509.58 SGD for a 25-pax milestone event—my mother's 88th Birthday Longevity Feast. While Tracy provided excellent customer service at the front end, the overall food quality control and careless execution from the kitchen fell far below what was promised and what we paid for. Instead of a smooth catering experience, it caused unnecessary stress and chaos. Such great front-end service deserves much better culinary standards. Please review and improve urgently.
