YLS Catering

I ordered from this caterer many times but recently maybe cost of goods, not as good as past.Curry Chicken not like the past.... now more watery. Ordered many times, chicken curry was good.

I was quite disappointed by the service as the delivery guy came much earlier even though I specifically instructed that to the caterer that cannot set up earlier than 5.30pm as my event is at 6.30pm. I was told to light up the fuel on my own as food were delivered much earlier.

We ended up with super diluted fruit punch, guest describe it as "diluted colour water". Cheng Teng was ok, but over heated, stir fried kalian dry and over cooked. The curry chicken sauce is salty and diluted, fried rice and Hong Kong meeting taste plain. Sambal prawns were small in size and braised pork tasted good but very small pieces.

Overall, food taste is mid, nothing much to shout out for. Very limited menu options. Setting of table is very simple. Not value for money.

The fried rice very dry and hard. Curry chicken ok. curry pork too salty and more than 60% potato than pork. Yam paste good but portion very little. 20%

Overall, the catering experience with YLS Catering was mixed, with some dishes meeting expectations while others fell short.

The "Fried H.K Noodle" was ordered but fried rice was provided instead. Unfortunately fried rice dry and hard This situation was unexpected thus they give some discount. The "Sweet & Sour Sliced Fish" suffered from a soggy texture. The "Curry Pork" had a diluted curry sauce, and the pork was tough. The potatoes in the curry were also not soft. The "Smoke Duck with Black Pepper" was a little oily. The "Prawn with Crab Sauce" featured small prawns, and the sauce was sparse and dry. The "Prawn Sauce Chicken" provided wasn't drumettes or wings but parts of the chicken and the taste of prawn paste was weak.

On a more positive note, the "Deep Fried Ngo Hiang" was acceptable. The "Kailan with Mushrooms" was also a satisfactory dish. The "Yam Paste with Coconut Milk" provided a sweet ending to the meal.

In summary, while some dishes were palatable, the overall quality of the food from YLS Catering was inconsistent. Several dishes suffered from issues with texture, flavor, or preparation. Improvements are needed in the execution of several menu items to meet expectations.

The food came on time, price is affordable and taste is average. The vendor can consider to place food item names for guests to know what food it is. The prawn dishes were not that great as frozen prawns were used and are mushy. The prawn with crab sauce is dark sauce type and didn't have crab taste. The sliced fish with thai sauce is more spicy than expected and that was the food with most leftover. Portion given is slightly bigger than ordered.

The food come per schedule time even when its raining.
Feedback on the food dissatisfaction and they did the rectification as per commit.

Order sent on time, despite is raining on that day. But order came missing dish, and was compensated for the dish itself. How about the guests and the customer that order feeling. Have to buy extra food when party is started. Did check the order number of trays are correct when delivered but came missing main dish. Because main dish should have two trays.

I ordered mini buffet from few caterer before and this is the 1st caterer I gave bad review.
The food taste was not nice, especially the fried Maggie, extremely oily as shown in photo.
The sweet and sour pork, sambal fish feel like eating flour instead of pork and fish.
The cereal prawn seems overcooked until very small and hard.
The chicken cooked with curry chicken was not fresh with smells.
However, the taste for vegetable with mushroom and dessert still can consider nice.
Overall, although the food not really nice, but the service is good.

The food taste is average and since delivery was too early, food was already cold when guests arrived. Sweet sour pork and fish with onion/ginger became soggy with the sauce as well. Would be better if the sauce was set aside separately for us to pour in later when consuming.
I ordered for 25 pax with only 22 people and about half consists of elderly and kids but from the picture (after 2 pax has taken the food) you can tell that the quantity is definitely not for 25 pax. All items are pathetic servings especially prawn and Ngo Hiang like only 1pc per pax. Lucky there are 2 trays of rice and curry each and hence just enough with only some curry left over. Curry has more potatoes and meat was not alot with some just bones with abit of meat.
Last weekend, I attended another birthday gathering where my sister ordered 30pax with 35 guests from another caterer and half of the attendees are the same crowd as mine, she still have alot of left over food despite hers had setup so the food is still warm and taste better. Her curry have lots of chicken drumlets and just nice amount of potatoes.
As a consolation, I can only say you can expect too much for the price paid.
However, failed minimum expectation where at least quantity must be sufficient.

Delivery was prompt. 15 mins before scheduled arrival. Rice was better than the bee hoon. Bee hoon was tough.
