"Pretty good food but not worth it's price"

Never had high expectations of catering food due to many bad experiences. However, the food that was delivered was pretty decent with a few misses.

Service and set up: quick and pleasant with black skirting and red table cloth with a lion head to ... More signify Chinese New Year.

Food:
1) Fa cai yusheng: delivery man forgot to give us the crispy chips which is the highlight of yusheng, otherwise dish was alright. Rating:3.5/5

2) Fortune platter: consist of fruit salad with clam, fried prawn and fried fish meat with a seafood roll. Think this is the worst dish and a bad choice for catering as the food will never be served warm. Hence it will lose its crispness and turn soggy. Rating:2/5

3) Treasure ginseng chicken: it's hard to go wrong with chicken but this dish lacks the ginseng taste though the chicken taste fine. Rating: 3/5

4) Fruity Norwegian salmon: one of the best dish! Was impressed as fish normally taste the worst for any catering with the fishy smell but the salmon cooked with dragon fruit, kiwi, rock melon and honeydew scored big with the relatives. Tasty yet not too salty with MSG without the unpleasant smell. Could improve on food presentation though. Rating:4.5/5

5) Prawn pumpkin shaved almond: another dish that can easily go wrong for most catering but not or this. Prawn meat was succulent and had the aromatic smell from curry leaves and pumpkin despite not bring a fan of prawn. Rating: 4.5/5

6) Fish maw soup with scallop: tasty soup but lacking in ingredients. Fels quite laden with MSG though. Rating: 3.5/5

7) Broccoli with scallop: cooked with mushroom and carrots, one of most guests' favourite. Broccoli was crunchy, with a light sauce drizzle, tasted home cooked without too much MSG. Rating 5/5

8) 8 Treasure lotus leaf rice: Lacking in flavours. Rating: 3/5

9) chilled mango pomelo sago: one of the second worst dish, had the right taste but far too sweet for most. Need to cut down on sugar and will be perfect. Rating:2.5/5

10) pink guava: tasted like usual

Overall the food was good but not value for money at $33.80 per pax. A more appropriate price to pay would be $25.80 max per pax
