We haven't been with them for a while. Decided to come back and try them again. We continued for another 10 days. Still evaluating. But generally the soups have improved compared to the last time we were with Fong Fu. Previously it was really so ... More diluted that you could taste the water and the seasoning separately. This time round, it is flavorful. Hopefully they keep up the good work.

No specific mains stand out this time round. Menu rotation remains very inflexible. Keep seeing the same items within the same meal period (i.e dinner and lunch dishes quite separate, you hardly get anything you see during lunch at dinner time, ... More despite across different months). But what bothered us more is the delivery time is way too early at 3:30pm even though we have feed-backed multiple times and even though they state their official dinner meal delivery timing starts earliest 4:30pm till 7:30pm. We only just finish lunch and we already receive our dinner, at teatime. Decided not to continue with them anymore

We continued for another 10 Days upon expiry of the first. Again, wish they can release the menu for 1 whole month instead of 2 weeks at a time to facilitate those who wish to order for 20 days at one shot. As mentioned before, Thai style cooking ... More featured quite a bit, with capsicum, basil, use of black pepper. Taste wise is ok but may make the dishes look a bit on the dull side (hence unappetizing). So far we have not encountered a caterer who really deliver well on their promise of seafood dishes. Hewtop is one exception. Prawns were of the larger size, of sufficient quantity, and fresh. Thumbs up and keep up the good work.

Dishes were generally ok, portions sufficient and delivery timely. One may find that the chefs frequently use lemongrass, capsicum, bell peppers and celery in the cooking. The portions were ok, mains were overall tasty. We specifically liked the soups which were always full-bodied and flavourful (without msg). The greens were a hit and miss. Dishes were not too salty, suitable for elderly. Wish the caterer can ... More consider mixing the lunch dishes with the dinner ones instead of repeating & recycling within the same meal period. We had actually preferred the lunch menu but was informed by the caterer that our area is underserved during lunch time so they are unable to take our tingkat order for lunch. We changed to dinner service in the end. Dinner on the first day was sent around 5pm which was still fine but subsequently for the 2nd-4th day we got it at 330pm, 430pm. We had to call the caterer to feedback the timing was really way too early for us as we have no microwave & we usually eat only around 730pm. Some items had become stale/not fresh by then

The menu (on paper) really did attract us at the beginning. It started out ok too. Delivery uncle was friendly. Food was less oil, less salt (sometimes on the bland side), not too sweet, very healthy for the elderly. More importantly, it had a home ... More cooked feel to it (unlike other caterers we have tried before where the food tasted mass-cooked). There were also some 'nostalgic dishes' like Li Li Xiang which the older generation can relate to. But towards the middle of our service, we notice the standard started dropping a little. There were some last minute menu swops, and a lot of potato dishes. Perhaps we were really looking forward to the food & formed certain expectations based on the showcased menu for the month. So when the food is received and did not turn out the way we envisioned, we got slightly disappointed. That said, we understand there may be a really tight profit margin they are operating on, plus we might have tried them at a not so ideal period - during the festive month where the cost of ingredients may be higher, or the number of cancellations are higher, or the month by month demand for tingkat service versus buffet/catering is lower, or they have recently launched a marketing campaign that they need to recoup the cost (we received their flyer in our mailbox). All in all, we may still be inclined to try them again. Perhaps on a better month this time, and without utilizing any Foodline/ credit card discount promo code. Look forward to the next review
