Disappointed with service, late in set up and collection.

A lot of my guests feed back to me that the Bee Hoon was rather tasteless and it seemed like the chef forgot to put seasoning.

Salted egg chicken was a disappointment. Should have stick to prawn paste chicken which was what we have gotten ... More previously when we ordered from the same caterer.

Orh Nee was pretty good, while the rest of the dishes were average, with more misses than hit.

More importantly I was very disturbed with the service.

Firstly, while I can understand the need for grace period of 15 to 20 minutes due traffic and weather and such, the buffet line was set up only at close to 6.30pm when I specifically asked for it to be set up from 5pm onwards, as indicated in the invoice! There was no call by the delivery crew to inform me of the delay. I have guests arriving on time at 6pm and I got to ask them to walk around Waterway Point because the buffet and chairs were not set up yet.

Secondly, when I tried calling the only telephone number listed on the company's website, nobody picks up. I was worried that the delivery crew failed to take down the order or something and not appear for the event, and there was nobody I can call to seek assistance from! I was already making plans if the delivery crew failed to show up and to provide alternate food and beverage for my guests. Definitely spoiled my experience of my daughter's baby shower.

Thirdly, we ran out of plates, cups, fork and drinks. This is the first time I encountered this, and I have already catered for some buffer. Based on my past experience, other caterers do put additional spare plates and cups underneath the buffet line so that we can use it when required. There was none available, and I got to ask my friend to go and buy more plates, cups and fork from NTUC.

Lastly, the collection time stated 8.30pm. I waited till 9.30pm and the delivery crew was nowhere to be seen!!! Again, I could not contact the delivery crew as per point 2, and that cause me a lot of distress, with Waterway Point security guard asking me repeatedly when will the delivery crew be arriving to remove the buffet line which I got no answer to and I couldn't contact anyone from Xin Yi Pin! It is fortunate that Waterway Point staff saw that I have my baby girl and son with me and they told me that they will get their cleaners to wait for the delivery crew and allow me to leave first.

Price was good, at $8.90 before GST per pax. The quality of the food is generally good, with majority of my guests singing praises of the food, commenting that the food is not too salty or sweet.

The prawn paste chicken, curry chicken and yam ... More paste were good. But the sweet and sour fish not so.

Was told the set up will only last 3 hours though, instead of the 4 hours, as it includes an hour for the delivery. Changed the timing from 11am to 3pm to 11.30am to 2.30pm. In the end, the staff set up by 10.30am, and only came to collect the stuff at 6pm.
