Intercontinental Catering Pte Ltd CNY 2022 Review - 风生水起Prosperity Set B

YuSheng, also known as Lou Hei consists of different strips of ingredients that represents different auspicious phrases.

Family usually gather around the table to toss the Yu Sheng otgether as a form of goodluck for the new year!

Without further ado, lets dive into the Mini Buffet Review for Intercontinental
风生水起Prosperity Set B.

1. Golden Fried Rice 富贵珍珠饭

For the first dish, we have GOLDEN FRIED RICE, Fried Rice is a rather common dish in many Chinese households, but it is also a dish that we can never get sick of.

Intercontinetal elevated the standard of fried rice to another level with every bite being so flavourful which yearns you for more.

Also, there is an abundant of ingredients mixed with the rice, such as egg, crabmeat, peas and carrot.

These are the ingredients that further brings out the aroma of any kind of fried rice.

Moreover, the portion is more than sufficient for 10 pax and it is ideal to consume it with other dishes together.

2. Auspicious Roasted Chicken 吉祥烧鸡

For Chinese New Year, Chicken is indispensable on our table, at least for mine. The Roasted Chicken is served in bite-sized which means it is convenient since the host do not have to spend time cutting the chicken before serving. Personally, I LOVE the roasted skin because it gives off a sweet initial taste followed by a nutty after taste and when consumed with the chicken meat, it is super juicy and you can really taste the freshness of the meat.

If you're worried about the Chicken Breast being super dry, not to worry, the moisture is still locked in the Chicken Breast!

Overall, I would say this dish is suitable for all ages! What's not to love about Roasted Chicken?

3. Eight Treasures Loh Han Vegetable 八宝罗汉斋

This is a delightful dish that is savoured by everyone during Chinese New Year, another term for Loh Han is, Braised Mixed Vegetables!

It consists a variety of vegetables such as Cauliflower, Broccoli and Black Mushrooms. Just on the first look, you could see the vibrant colours this dish brings out.

This dish will never go wrong, highly recommended as I enjoyed every bite of it!

4. Shrimp Prawn Roll 黄金虾枣

Did you know that Shrimp Prawn Roll 黄金虾枣 is a TeoChew Style dish? It is of no surprise to see it during your Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner!

Whenever it comes to this dish, I am sure the filling will be the star of the show and as expected, Intercontinental lived up to their name!

The shrimp filling inside is juicy and it is combined with waterchestnut that explodes in your mouth, it feels like you can never get sick of this good taste that lingers around!

5. Breaded Crab Claw 酥炸蟹角

Just by looking at the appearance of Breaded Crab Claw 酥炸蟹角, the skin of it is golden brown, meaning that is well coated and deep-fry to perfection.

Moreover, this is a perfect finger food option during Chinese New Year Gathering, super convenient and delicious!

As for the taste, it is more on the sweeter side and and personally, I love to dip it in sweet chilli sauce, it is the perfect combination for me,.

6. Prawn with Salted Egg 咸蛋虾

Before I could even indulge in this dish, I already knew I will enjoy it because I am a huge huge fan of Seafood and in particular, prawn! When mixed with Salted Egg, it is super highly addictive! Personally, I like the rich sandiness that Salted Egg Yolk brings out. The prawn is also very fresh and it is cooked just right, not overcooked or undercooked!

There's literally nothing to not LOVE about this dish if you are a prawn x salted egg lover!

Highly addictive though!

7. Shrimp Lemon Fish Fillet 干香鱼片

The lemon helps to balance the flavours of sour and helps to elevate the aroma of this entire dish!

The fish fillets are sliced into bite-sized pieces, super easy for consumption for each individual. This would be good to have it with the Golden Fried Rice.

Also, the fish fillet isn't dry on it's on, the moisture is still locked in despite the abundance of flavours on the exterior.

8. Sweet Yam with Gingko Nuts 香滑白果芋泥

Lastly, after a feast, you and your guests can end it off with a bowl of dessert!

You can enjoy this traditional dessert chilled or warmed, depending on what you prefer.

The Yam Paste is super soothing to the throat, and the serving is super sufficient, there is definitely enough for everyone!
