4 Common Bad Habits and How to Quit Them
Well, like the name suggests, bad habits are bad for you! In fact, it affects you mentally, physically, emotionally and even socially in some cases!
As far as I know, it is okay to have these bad habits, I’m sure I have plenty of them as well. Breaking bad habits are not easy but breaking them usually benefit us so I think it’s worth kicking them!

1) Nail Biting
Most of us are guilty of nail biting, right? Or at least, we have seen somebody doing it. These are surprisingly common. Nail biting is unhygienic and social repelling as well! In fact, it actually leads to dental problems, potentially causes stomach problems and even deformed fingernails in the long run!
Break this habit by first understanding and finding out what triggers this action and switch it up with something else! If you bite your fingernails when you are watching a movie or scrolling through your phone, maybe fold your arms or hold on to a soft ball for you to fidget with!

2) Leaving Things to the Last Minute
I am guilty as charged! How about you? Burning midnight oil isn’t that fun right? Not only will you need to get all the things done in a short amount of time, it messes up you mentally and physically as well!
Start changing this habit by listing down things that need to be done by their deadline, plan and stay ahead of the deadlines. Trust me, you will feel so much at east.

3) Focusing on the Negatives
Despite us knowing that we should always try to think positively, we always end up thinking negatively. Well, truth is, it really is easier just to dwell on the negatives though, it doesn’t need much effort and just feeds on your already bad mood.
Challenge yourself the next time you run into something bad. Identify 3 positive things about it. You may wonder, what positive things can there be when you run into something bad? Well, trust me, there will be! Practice this regularly and it will be a norm to you after a while. Afterall, if you can’t make yourself feel good, who else can?

4) Eating Too Much Junk Food
Another habit that I’m guilty of. Especially now that most of us are working from home, it is easier to fall into this bad habit. It is addictive and honestly, everything is unhealthy when in excess.
Another challenge for you, change this habit using another habit. Practice choosing the healthier option whenever you can. Say there’s apple chips and potato chips, you know the answer!
Nothing is easy, and breaking these bad habits are even harder. Afterall, they’ve been with you for so long. Point is, substitute this bad habit with another option that is beneficial or healthier. Practice them and soon, you’ll have more good habits than bad!
