The COVID-19 virus has been spreading really fast with and the total confirmed cases in Singapore has since exceeded 3000. What is more worrying is that it can be fatal. As of 14 April, there are 10 deaths linked to the COVID-19 in Singapore. Are you worried too?

There are many ways to prevent yourself from catching the virus, one way is to boost your immune system so that the chances of you getting infected is lower (if you also adhere to other strict measures).

 

  1. Having Adequate Sleep

People who lack adequate rest frequently face problems of getting sick easily. Experts have recommended that you get enough sleep of between 7 to 9 hours. Many of us tend to “over-work” and sacrifice our sleep and this is not recommended. So, let’s try to have enough sleep and it is essential to help restore our bodies.

 

  1. Eat Fruit and Vegetables

Certain fruits and vegetables can actually boost your immune system. Some examples of powerful immune boosters are Citrus fruits, Broccoli, Papaya and Ginger. All of them contain the vitamins and minerals you need to fight with viruses. Eat more Fruits and Vegetables!

  1. Exercise At Home

Even though the circuit breaker still allows people to go exercise outdoors, I personally feel that by exercising outdoor could expose you to more risks of catching the COVID-19 virus as you will not be wearing any mask while exercising. There are now many online lessons which you can apply and do while at home. Some examples are Yoga, Pilates, Boxing and even Cardio Workout. If you are interested, a good place to start with free lessons is by searching on YouTube!

 

  1. Stay At Home

The most effective way to prevent yourself from contracting COVID-19 is to stay at home as much as possible. You will never know if the person beside you is an asymptomatic carrier to the virus. You can now play your part to help overcome the COVID-19 by staying at home as much as possible and only go out if you need to buy essential items.
