5 More Tips to Control Your Anger at Work!
Ever felt your "blood boiling” at work? Anger caused by your boss, colleagues or even customers? Sometimes, our anger also gets amplified at work as we were already dealing with some personal issues. Personally, I will be lying if I say I have never experienced any of the above.
Well, here are some tips I use to control my anger when it happens!

#1 Take a Timeout
It is important to give yourself some quiet time when your anger gets ahold of you. Find a quiet place and sit away from others. Process the situation and try to return your emotions to neutral. In fact, if you find this useful, try to work this into your daily schedule, even if it’s a few minutes, it will help you go a long way.

#2 Repeat a Mantra
Find a word or phrase that can calm you down and help you refocus. Ever seen some athletes with some wordings on their palm/wrist and looking at it every once in a while during a match? Yep, you can too! Something like “take it easy, you’ll be ok” would be good and you can repeat it in your mind till you are calmed down.

#3 Stop Talking
It’s normal to start saying things you didn’t mean to when you are angry. Try to keep your mouth shut for the time being when you are angry. Give yourself some time to collect your thoughts before you say anything. More often than not, your words will be holding an entirely different meaning even if it is just a few minutes of silence.

#4 Find a Creative Channel
Ever consider releasing that inner creative self when you are angry? Try drawing, gardening, writing or even dance it out to your favorite music! It will help you in the long term and reduce your anger throughout. Who knows, you might even be the next Picasso!

#5 Play Some Tunes
Perhaps create a playlist of your favorite songs! When you are angry, plug in and let the music carry you to peace. Even better, find a quiet place, your car or an empty balcony and sing along. That’s because you will end up focusing and thinking of the lyrics instead of your anger. By the end of a few songs, you should be calm and ready to conquer any obstacles!
Nobody said life is easy, feeling these emotions is what humans are prone to and it’s very normal! What’s important is the lesson and experience you gained from these incidents and getting to know yourself better. Remember to always do the things you love and stay happy and these negative emotions will just seem less significant!
