Do you know feeling sleepy and being tired is different? Tiredness can largely cause by stress, pain or poor lifestyle choices!

#1 Reduce Stress
Stress drains a lot of energy! No matter what kind of stress you are facing, work or non-work related, it’ll drain your energy throughout the day. Reduce stress by doing something you know can sooth your mind! Meditate, go for a run, draw, dance anything you like!

#2 Cut out caffeine
Okay this shocked me too. But the Royal College of Psychiatrists suggest that you should cut out caffeine slowly over a 3 weeks period and see if you will feel less tired. And if it starts giving you headaches, cut down even more slowly. It is said that caffeine can cause dehydration to some and causes your body to work extra to fight dehydration, in turn causes fatigue. There are actually other factors as well, read more on why caffeine causes you to feel more tired here!

#3 Get Moving
You must be thinking I’m crazy. You are already tired yet here I am asking you to exercise. But in fact, exercising regular can make you less tired in the long run! Even a 15 minutes walk round your block! And with increase and more frequent exercises, you’ll feel more energetic! Plus it comes with other benefits as well, win-win!

#4 Sleep Well
This is pretty straight forward. Most of us do not have adequate sleep hours to keep us alert throughout the day. Try going to bed and getting up in the morning at the same time everyday, avoid naps in the day and relax before bed time (I mean not staring into your electronic devices). Most adults need 6 to 9 hours of sleep daily!

#5 Eat Regularly
Skipping meals is not going to help you in this battle! Remember to take your meals regularly, every 3-4 hours and try to have healthier snack options throughout the day! A sudden large meal after a long day of not eating will not help you!
