Whole Lamb Shank Bamboo Biryani

First up, we gave the Whole Lamb Shank Bamboo Biryani a try. The large portion of lamb shank was served together with a generous amount of Indian basmati rice. With a balance of spices, nuts and herbs blended together with the rice and lamb shank, this dish was bursting with flavours! A hard-boiled egg was also added to give the extra texture element to the dish.
We were all pleasantly surprised at how the lamb shank was cooked to absolute perfection. Even though the lamb shank was large, it was braised well with lots of flavors from the marination of herbs and spices. The texture of the meat was tender and juicy which led to all of us wanting more!
Unlike other biryani dishes, this bamboo biryani was served without curry, which led to some of us assuming that the rice on itself would be dry. However, the basmati rice was light, fragrant and on its own. Furthermore, when accompanied with peanut bits, it gave the extra crunch element needed to every mouthful.
The 2 condiments that accompanied both sets were the Salata Hara (green Arabic salsa sauce) and Raitha (mixed vegetable yogurt salad).
The Salata Hara goes well with both the rice and meat, adding a tinge of sour and spicy flavour which helped lighten our palates with every spoonful. The Raitha on the other hand, has bits of cucumbers, carrots and onions that adds a refreshing touch to the dish.
Bamboo Chicken Biryani

Secondly, we had a taste of the Chicken Bamboo Biryani. It consisted of a hard-boiled egg, Indian basmati rice and a large serving of grilled chicken. We were pleased at how well the chicken meat was able to absorb all the spices and herbs from the biryani. However, one let down from the dish, would be that the chicken meat was slightly dry and tough in texture. Hence, a suggestion we have would be for the chicken meat to be more juicy and tender. Nonetheless, it was still a dish well done that led to many of us coming back for second servings.
Overall, both dishes were above our expectations and we would highly recommend that you give them a try for yourself, to understand just how good it tastes! The aromatic flavours from the Indian spices and herbs will no doubt tantalize your taste buds and leave them salivating for more.
