Delizio Catering’s A Scarlet Christmas Feast Buffet – A Festive Spread Worth Gathering For

Delizio Catering’s A Scarlet Christmas Feast Buffet – A Festive Spread Worth Gathering For

Christmas buffets are always a little tricky: you want something that feels special and seasonal, but still comforting enough for everyone at the table. Delizio Catering’s A Scarlet Christmas Feast Buffet hits that sweet spot really nicely. The spread leans Western-festive with a cozy, hearty vibe, and what I liked most was how the dishes didn’t feel repetitive — there was a good mix of fresh starters, warm mains, and rich sides that made the whole meal feel balanced.

Here’s my take on each dish I tried, and the ones that totally stole the spotlight for me.

Dish-by-dish review

1. Asparagus & Haricot Salad with Dry Nuts & Mustard Dressing

Asparagus & Haricot Salad with Dry Nuts & Mustard Dressing
A clean, refreshing way to start. The asparagus and haricot beans were crisp and light, while the dry nuts added a nice crunch. The mustard dressing gave it a gentle tang that woke up the palate without being too sharp. It’s the kind of salad that keeps things fresh between heavier mains. Not to mention, the vegetables were really fresh and sweet too!

2. Gourmet Forest Mushroom & Macadamia Soup Served with Homemade Croutons

Gourmet Forest Mushroom & Macadamia Soup Served with Homemade Croutons
This one is a comfort-bomb in the best way. The soup was creamy and full of deep mushroom flavour — earthy, warm, and super satisfying. What really made it extra delicious was the homemade croutons: crunchy on the outside, soaking up the soup just enough to become little flavour sponges. Truth to be told, I had three bowls and no regrets!

3. Rotini Aglio e Olio (Fusilli tossed with Fresh Garlic, Olive Oil & Parmigiano)

Rotini Aglio e Olio (Fusilli tossed with Fresh Garlic, Olive Oil & and Parmigiano)
Simple but done right. The pasta was lightly slicked with olive oil, fragrant with garlic, and finished with a savoury parmesan touch. Not too heavy, not too oily — just a comforting, crowd-friendly carb that pairs well with the richer meats.

4. Raisin Pulao Rice with Bell Pepper & Roasted Cashew Nuts

Raisin Pulao Rice with Bell Pepper & Roasted Cashew Nuts
A nice surprise for a Christmas buffet. The rice had a gentle spice aroma, with sweetness from raisins and pops of flavour from bell peppers. The roasted cashews added nuttiness and texture. It’s festive without trying too hard, and it works well alongside the saucier dishes, especially the Beef Bourguignon.

5. Slow-Cooked Chicken Piccata (Succulent Chicken Braised with Olives, Fresh Herbs and a Tangy Piccata Sauce)

Slow-Cooked Chicken Piccata (Succulent Chicken Braised with Olives, Fresh Herbs and a Tangy Piccata Sauce)
Tender and bright. The chicken was soft from slow-cooking, and the piccata sauce gave it a lemony-herby zing. Olives added little salty bursts that kept each bite interesting. A good “lighter main” option in the lineup.

6. Seabass à la Riviera (Wood-Grilled Seabass with Caper Herb Sauce)

Seabass à la Riviera (Wood-Grilled Seabass with Caper Herb Sauce)
Delicate and clean-tasting. The seabass was flaky with a gentle grilled smokiness. The caper herb sauce added a salty, slightly tangy lift, making it feel fresh and Mediterranean. Great for guests who want seafood without anything too heavy.

7. Beef Bourguignon (Classic Stewed Beef with Carrots, Onions, Mushroom in Rich Aromatic Sauce)

Beef Bourguignon (Classic Stewed Beef with Carrots, Onions, Mushroom in Rich Aromatic Sauce)
My favourite dish of the night. The beef was rich, tender, and soaked through with that slow-stewed flavour. The sauce was deep and aromatic, with sweetness from carrots and onions balancing the savoury notes. It tasted like classic holiday comfort food — warm, hearty, and the kind of dish you keep going back to.

8. Pan-Seared Tiger Prawns with Shell-on with Chermoula Butter

Pan-Seared Tiger Prawns with Shell-on with Chermoula Butter
The most surprising (and one of my top favourites). The prawns were plump and juicy, and the chermoula butter gave them a fragrant, slightly spiced kick. It wasn’t too spicy — just enough heat to wake up your taste buds — and that made it such a standout among the mostly non-spicy dishes. Really memorable, and a great way to add some excitement to the spread.

9. Parmesan & Truffle Baby Potatoes

Parmesan & Truffle Baby Potatoes
Soft, creamy baby potatoes with that unmistakable truffle aroma. The parmesan added a savoury edge, so it didn’t feel overly rich. This is a classic festive side — comforting and a little luxurious.

10. Cheddar-Kissed Chicken Sausage with Mustard Mayo

Cheddar-Kissed Chicken Sausage with Mustard Mayo
A fun, snacky item. The chicken sausage had a juicy bite, and the cheddar flavour came through mildly without overpowering it. The mustard mayo added a creamy tang that made it moreish. Easy to eat, easy to like.

11. Velvet Red Mousse Torte

Velvet Red Mousse Torte

A light, pretty ending to the meal. The mousse texture was smooth and soft, not too dense, with a gentle cocoa-berry vibe. Sweet but not cloying — a nice way to wrap things up after all the savoury mains.

Final thoughts - 5/5 (Bonus points go to effort in decoration)

A Scarlet Christmas Feast Buffet

Overall, Delizio Catering’s A Scarlet Christmas Feast Buffet feels like a well-planned festive meal that can please a mixed crowd — hearty enough for meat lovers, balanced with fresh starters and seafood, and punctuated by a few dishes that really shine.

If I had to call out the stars: the Beef Bourguignon is a must-try, and the Tiger Prawns with Chermoula Butter were the biggest (and happiest) surprise thanks to that subtle spicy kick. Add in the excellent mushroom soup, and you’ve got a buffet that feels both comforting and special — exactly what a Christmas gathering should be. Not to mention, they’re one of the rare caterers who truly pour their heart into Christmas decorations — making every setup feel extra festive and inviting. Order now here!
