For those of you who don’t know, the main difference between “rice” and “rice pilaf” is the cooking technique. Rice is typically cooked in boiling water without any flavourings added. Rice Pilaf, by definition, is sautéed with aromatics before cooking in broth to create seasoned rice with more defined rice grains. This pilaf tomato rice is a tasty one pot dish made with rice, tomatoes, herbs and spices. It goes well with any side dish as it is very flavourful and tasty on its own.
