International Catering Pte Ltd CNY 2022 Review - 风生水起 Prosperity Set
There is no better way to ring in the New Year than with meaningful conversations, cozy gatherings, and delectable food. However, dining out during the Chinese New Year holiday can be difficult due to the closure of some restaurants.
In this article, we'll be reviewing International Catering's 风生水起 Prosperity Set B. It costs $268 per set and can serve up to ten people.

1. Golden Fried Rice 富贵珍珠饭
The mouthwatering main course goes back to the basics, using eggs and pearl rice, as well as good wok-hei to bring out the flavours of the fresh ingredients. Each grain of rice is uniformly coated with liquid eggs before frying, giving it a light aroma and golden yellow appearance. This fried rice had just the correct ratio of fluffiness for me, without being too wet or dry.
2. Auspicious Roasted Chicken 吉祥烧鸡
The aroma of roasted chicken filled our office, and it tasted as good as it looked. It was juicy and moist, with a hint of natural sweetness, and I enjoyed dipping it in some chili sauce for an extra umami kick.
3. Eight Treasures Loh Han Vegetable 八宝罗汉斋
Buddha's delight, also known as lo han zai, is a popular vegetarian dish in Chinese and Buddhist cuisine. The broccoli and cauliflower became crunchy, and flavourful as they absorbed the zhap. The gingko nuts, mushroom, and wolfberry added different textures to the dish.
4. Shrimp Prawn Roll 黄金虾枣
We were drawn to the flavor of this delectable ngoh hiang. These rolls have generous prawn chunks, a moist bite of minced pork, and intense, addictive garlicky notes – no condiments are required for this piquant roll. Because the texture of the individual ingredients is so well-executed, we didn't miss the crunch of water chestnuts, which we normally enjoy.
5. Breaded Crab Claw 酥炸蟹角
These are made with premium crab meat and coated in crispy orange bread crumbs. It's ideal for serving as finger food at get-togethers and parties. Each bite is bursting with the sweet flavor of crab meat, which is enhanced by the addition of chili sauce.
6. Prawn with Salted Egg 咸蛋虾
Indulge in these delectable Salted Egg Yolk Prawns! They're cooked to perfection and topped with a creamy yolk sauce. The prawns' natural sweetness pairs well with the savory salted egg yolk.
7. Shrimp Lemon Fish Fillet 干香鱼片
The fish fillet has a delicate flavour and semi-firm flesh. The fish was well-marinated with the fragrant lemon juice, which eliminates any fishy flavour that some people dislike.
8. Sweet Yam with Gingko Nuts 香滑白果芋泥
Finish your Chinese New Year dinner with a traditional Teochew dessert steeped in history and nostalgia. Many people find this sweet and smooth orh nee to be a great source of comfort. The yam paste was silky smooth and not overly sweet, which was perfect!
