Aaaand we are back with another review article! In this week’s review article, we will be tasting and reviewing some of the dishes from Kim Peng’s Project BKT. From their classic bak kut teh to their braised pig’s trotter, and from their braised taupok to a wide variety of side dishes, it was definitely a feast! Ready? Let’s goooooo!!
Check out our video on them here:
1. 3-pax bat kut teh

First up, the highlight of today’s article is their Bak Kut Teh meal set! Bak Kut Teh is a pork rib dish cooked in broth, commonly found in Singapore and Malaysia. This dish from Kim Peng’s Project BKT really stole the show for me. Not only was the soup super flavourful, but the pork ribs were super tender and soft. Almost like it just melts in your mouth! The dish also had beancurd skin, enoki mushrooms and taupok inside which made the entire dish come together really well. Oh and of course, how can we forget the classic braised peanuts and salted vegetable side dishes for every BKT meal? It went really well together with the entire meal and was the cherry on top for the meal! Super shiok!

2. Braised Pig's Trotter, Braised Taupok and Oyster Sauce Vegetable

Apart from the classic BKT that they offer, they also offer braised pig’s trotter. There were generous pieces of pig trotters that were enough for two to share. The gelatinous skin is so soft and delicate. An added bonus is the absence of prickly hairs which I HATE because that would mean I had to discard that piece of precious skin. Super flavourful and tender piece of pig’s trotter. Definitely a must try to accompany the heavenly BKT! Alongside is their braised taupok, so if you aren’t really a fan of pig’s trotters you can always check out their taupok! Super flavourful super shiok! oh and I definitely did not forget their oyster sauce vegetable! It was cooked to perfection and was super fresh too!
