Old Village Café – Mini Buffet review
For this week’s mini buffet review, we have Old Village Café who would be showcasing their Asian and Peranakan cuisine for us. The sight and taste of these dishes truly reminds me of food from Malaysia. Let’s see what they have in store for us as we review 9 of their Mini Buffet dishes!
1. Nonya Mee Siam Goreng 娘惹米暹(干)

First on the list of 9 dishes is the Nonya Mee Siam Goreng. The stir-fried rice vermicelli with a mix of prawn and greens is perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Finally, garnished with lime and beansprouts – every mouth is a savour!

5. Loh Han Chye 罗汉斋

Loh Han Chye is a combination of braised vegetables and comes in many different combinations. This one from Old Village Café serves you a mix of broccoli, cabbage, glass noodles and mushrooms. This dish has a very savoury taste as each ingredient brings its own mild flavour!

Crunch! What a beautiful sound the spring roll makes as your bite down on its crunchy surface. Moist on the inside and crispy on the outside, you cannot go wrong with this appetiser!

Dishes 8 and 9 on this list of Peranakan food would spark a joy in the hearts of the seafood lovers. The prawn from Old Village Café is perfectly cooked and as you take your first bite, springy would be the word that comes to your mind! Further covered in breadcrumbs, this dish is richly flavoured.
