Rilassi Catering Mini Buffet Review - Super Sedap!
Rilassi Catering has kindly sent over their mini buffet for us to review! There were a total 8 food items and my colleagues and I really enjoyed every single dish. It was overall a very pleasant dining experience!
1. Nasi Minyak

Nasi Minyak is a fragrant rice dish enjoyed with curries and other side dishes. The rice was aromatic and paired really nicely with the beef rendang! There were raisins and nuts incorporated into the rice as well. They added a nice texture to this simple rice dish.
2. Bee Hoon Goreng Kampung

The Bee Hoon Goreng Kampung, also known as Village Fried Rice Noodle, was cooked with a lot of spices which made it very flavourful. I was afraid that the bee hoon would be dry but it was definitely not dry at all! This tasted amazing with the lemak ayam padang.
3. Beef Rendang

My colleagues and I were truly impressed with the beef rendang which was silky soft in texture and the flavour was greatly enhanced by the seasoning. The rendang gravy was thick and rich! As mentioned, this goes great with the nasi minyak!
4. Lemak Ayam Padang

This curry dish felt like a comfort food. The curry itself was flavourful and savoury, with a hint of spice. The chicken was tender, and the potatoes were soft but were still able to hold their shape. I loved pairing this with the bee hoon!
5. Ikan Sambal Chilli

Firstly, the fish was tender and soft on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside. The sambal definitely added sweetness and richness to the fish. Don’t worry, the sambal was only mildly spicy. I enjoyed the bell peppers in the dish too as they added an extra crunch!
6. Sambal Goreng

Sambal Goreng is a protein-rich vegetable dish that consists of long beans, beancurd and tempeh, simmered in a mixture of spices and coconut milk. In case you didn’t know, tempeh is a traditional Javanese soy product that is made from fermented soybeans. Overall, the dish was savoury and would pair nicely with a bowl of rice.
7. Dragon Ball

This has got to be one of my favourites from this menu! The exterior was fried to perfection. It was crispy and fragrant. Encased in the crispy exterior is a shrimp ball. The shrimp ball was crunchy and juicy. Remember to dip this in the sweet chilli sauce!
8. Bo Bo Cha Cha

This absolutely delicious dessert is made of a medley of sweet potatoes in purple, orange, and yellow color and also taro/yam serve in sweet and aromatic coconut milk broth studded with soft and chewy tapioca pearls. Definitely a great way to end off our meal!
