With CNY approaching real soon, Robert Catering Services has kindly sent over one of their many CNY menus - 黄金饱满 Huang Jin Bao Man Mini Buffet with Yu Sheng over for us to review. In this mini buffet, there are 8 various types of dishes to dig in and enjoy with your family and relatives including a luxurious yu sheng platter!

Abundant Wealth “Yu Sheng” 鸿运脆吉祥鲍鱼生

Being a CNY tradition, tossing and mixing of Yu Sheng is definitely a necessity or else CNY won’t be complete! After lou-ing everything together, the various ingredients were mixed well, making the dish delicious.

Golden Fried Rice W Scallop 干贝金银炒饭

For this particular dish, it is a super aromatic and stunning dish. The ingredients used to fry together with the rice was able to enhance the fragrant rice. The scallops are deeply golden brown and give the overall dish a tough, gummy texture. It surely is an addictive dish as you will realise how you cannot stop eating it after your first bite.

Fa Cai Vegetable W Mushroom 花开富贵翡翠冬茹

The ingredients were all soft and easy to bite, and the dish was overall well seasoned which makes each bite tasty and not bland.

Homemade Prawn Balls金钱虾枣

Prawn balls! A classic and common Chinese cuisine dish. I don’t know about you, but knowing how the prawn balls taste like - flavourful and yummy, I was excited about this dish. Safe to say, this particular dish indeed tastes super delicious. I really like how although it is fried, it wasn’t too greasy or oily and was just nice. Dipping in the dark soy sauce gave the prawn rolls a mildly sweet taste on top of a savoury bite.

Fu Gui Roast Chicken 富贵烤鸡

Personally, I am not a fan of roasting my chicken as I prefer it poached - however this roast chicken might have changed my mind a little! I like how the chicken skin did not have a strong roasted smell and the meat was tender, making every bite tasty.

Crispy Yam Roll 財源广进 炸芋头

Just like its name suggests, the yam roll was crispy and tasted sweet. If you’re a fan of yam, you’ll find yourself constantly indulging in this dish!

Sweet & Sour Fish 年年有余酸甜鱼片

The fish was really tender at first bite and the skin was crispy and crunchy. Dipping the fish in the sweet and sour sauce made the dish really addictive because, for a while, I kept going for the fish without stopping!

Fruit Cocktail w Longan 浓情蜜意龙眼什果

I ended my meal with a refreshing bowl of fruit cocktail with longan. Both the cocktail and fruits aren’t too sweet and made me feel slightly healthier after consuming it.
